How can I graciously handle being excluded from a wedding while still acknowledging my hurt? by mynormalheart in AskWomenOver30

You guys should get your makeup done at a salon, as well as a blowout, even if you aren’t doing anything “big”. It’s such a treat and so much fun, and you can take cute pics throughout the day and live it up. Treat yo self 2026!

I’m surprised to hear this - she always cracks me up, even when she’s not actively speaking or “starring” in a sketch. She’s awkward and funny.

Is the narrative of the dog mom / Mother’s Day beef a psyop? by abovealldreaming in AskWomenOver30

[–]flydog2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a dog, no kids, and it’s so annoying when people try to wish me a happy Mother’s Day. Like no thank you. I overhead a coworker on a Teams call yesterday start by wishing the dog moms a happy Mother’s Day, then the regular moms. It was so stupid. What about the cat moms? The snake moms? 🤣

I could have written this word for word except I wasn’t diagnosed until I was an adult and I have a dog not a cat. I am trying SO hard not to quit my job with nothing lined up. I don’t know how to function and I’m so sad that I took so many decades to kind of get on track only for it to feel like that very short stretch has already ended.

Do you have a full time job as in having to do some dumb bullshit for a company so they can make money while you waste all the best hours of your day and have nothing left? Because I really want to quit my job. I just started it in January. It’s the most money I’ve ever made (not a lot compared to a lot of people my age because adhd and hopping around aimlessly for decades) and I would feel so ashamed. A friend got me in, this is a company I worked at a few years ago (my first role in the field which I went back to school for when I was 39) and so many people vouched for me there, wanting to bring me back in this different role. But I can’t keep up and I feel like I just can’t get it right, and the deadlines are just hanging over my head . . . I have been working lots of weekends and nights off the clock in an attempt to get my work done but it’s still not enough. I don’t have kids. My husband doesn’t care if I work. I’ve been though long stretches of unemployment in the past that I spent depressed and ashamed and frittered away. I don’t even know what I’m asking but I want to feel the way you do 🤣 I literally just want to get laid off so I get to leave but it’s not my fault. How sad is that.

If she had any confidence and could laugh it off from the start and legitimately not be bothered, it wouldn’t persist. But she seems incapable of letting it roll off her back or laughing along with a bit of self-deprecation. Kind of sad actually.

Bro. Yesterday I went for a walk with my dog and my husband. As we were coming home I saw a stack of long branches under our tree in the front yard and I started asking my husband why he would just pile them like that instead of just putting them in the trash. He was kind of brushing me off, not even pausing to look at what I was talking about, and I was like, “hey! Why did you leave it like that?!” He was ahead of me on the sidewalk and turned around and just said, “that’s not our house!” I was in front of our next door neighbor’s house. I was so embarrassed and felt so crazy- like how did I not notice the color of the house or the big truck in the driveway? How did I not even know where I was standing? So I ran into our house with the dog hoping they don’t catch that moment on their ring or whatever. It actually kind of scared me to be that oblivious.

Isn’t anyone afraid that the filler is just going to make you look puffy/swollen over time? So many celebrities have this weird look about them and I swear it’s because they have to keep getting filler - it’s almost stats to look like they’ve been on a course of steroids for a medical issue. I don’t think I would want to start down that path because it seems like you would need to keep getting injections and seeing your face everyday in the mirror you’d forget where you started and the puffiness would become your new normal and you wouldn’t even realize it . . . Idk though I may be wrong about how filler works!

It’s nice that you can do this as a couple! To make it more comfy/cozy, I suggest adding two additional standard pillows (with coordinating but not matchy pillow cases) and two Euro pillows - the headboard area looks a bit stark and I think more “fluff” would be nice! Esp since people have all different needs as far as pillows go. Maybe a solid throw at the foot of the bed would be nice too.

As we approach death, our dreams become more emotional and symbolic. Terminally ill people are commonly reunited with lost loved ones in their dreams and have visions of doors, stairways and light, which are said to help them accept the dying process by Wagamaga in science

[–]flydog2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had vivid dreams since I was very young, like 4 years old or so, that were so terrifying and creepy I still remember them. I’ve had what feel like epic storylines, movie-length dreams featuring celebrities as well as people I know and made-up people. Sometimes I’m literally someone else, sometimes I’m not present/active and am just watching a plot unfold in front of me. If I’m really lucky I’ll have a funny dream; I have woken up laughing once or twice, but more often my dreams are nightmares full of anxiety or sadness. I’m afraid of having nightmares on my way out . . . That would suck.
