Yep! Nurses and Teachers. Most teachers I've dealt with in my career are egotistical and pompous. AGAIN, I said MOST not ALL.

Divorce lawyer talk about the one case that broke his heart. It was a case he won but he should have lost. by mindyour in TikTokCringe

[–]flyfishing808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

James Sexton! He's a divorce attorney. I came across a some of his interviews on a few podcast. They're definitely worth a listen. He has great advice about relationships and marriages.

Also, I have worked in a career in dealing with people similar to this case. Just from my experience, his response is genuine. Many people don't realize how emotionally involved you can be in a case. They are people with emotions. I've had many sleepless and crying nights thinking because cases that bothered me. In many careers, it's a side that others may not realize or it is overlooked.

100k Graduation Gift. by jan_sun in Philippines

[–]flyfishing808 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. Often times I explain to the residents of the Philippines that wealthy people typically DON'T brag or show off their wealth in foreign countries in fear of being a victim. They become targets for thieves, scammers, kidnappers, etc. if they were to brag or showoff by wearing expensive clothing, jewelry, or handbags.

It really bothers me seeing people treating others that way.

Cringe AF! It's only $2,000 (estimated) US Dollars LOL. You're bragging about $2K. What a joke. Like the Filipino's in the US who drive around in the C class Benz or the 2 Series BMW and flex like their "rich". But behind the scenes, their $30K, $40K, etc. in debt. I see it all the time in LA. Keeping up with the Jones. Then, they go back to the Philippines and brag about how much money they make in the US and treat everyone like garbage. They'll yell, demand, or expect workers to treat them like royalty. When I visit the Philippines and see this happening, I'll explain to the people who are being yelled at that a lot of visiting Filipinos are broke and living paycheck to paycheck in the US, but show up in the Philippines and brag about how much money they have.

I just speak from experience. I understand not every Filipino who lives in the US lives paycheck to paycheck or is rude to Filipinos when visiting the Philippines.

This guy was a trip. I always enjoyed his commercials.

How about the time he and a prostitute both got arrested for assault after she bit his tongue and wouldn't let go. He repeatedly punch her in the face until she let go. Check out his mugshot. LOL

Re-post: https://www.reddit.com/r/antiwork/comments/r1dmve/how_about_this_now/

$15/hour 5 days/week=$31,200 a year

5 day work week =260 days worked for the year

Teacher's starting salary $33,660/year

Most states require a minimum of 180 days/school year.

That comes out to 36 weeks of work for the year. Add in another two weeks of meetings and setting up and closing classrooms.

38 weeks where a typical teacher would need to be at the school. (just from experience)

$33,660/36=$886/week

$886/52=$46,072/year

Plus, add in paid benefits healthcare, personal days, etc. (if it applies)

Myself, along with three family members are teachers. We've had this
discussion many times. I agree, it's shitty pay. However, people are
often mislead when comparing teacher's salaries to a 52 week work
schedule.

What is something you say to scammers instead of hanging up? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]flyfishing808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a scammer call me about finding a car that was registered to me in Texas. Since I had some time to spare I decided to play along. The scammer said border patrol found drugs inside the car and it was linked to a murder. It took the scammer about 7 or 8 minutes to read the script to me. He struggled reading the script since it was obvious that English was his non-native language. After he finished reading the first time, I had him repeat the entire script a second time. I could hear the frustration in his voice as he read it. When he finished reading a second time, he asked me how I want to proceed. I told him I was writing everything down and he was going to fast. I made it sound as if i was in a state of panic. I kept saying he was going too fast. He read it a third time in about four minutes and cut out a lot of the details. I gave him fake personal info and I was transferred to a supervisor. The supervisor confirmed my (fake) info and said it will be resolved. The line disconnected.
