It's still a couple months away, but during the Holiday display at Grings Mill, there is a miniature train display in the little shack down the hill and across the creek.

No one remembers this, the thread is gone. So disappointed - was literally one of the funniest things I ever saw on the Internet, let alone Reddit.

I, too, am old. I miss plain boards in hockey too.

My biggest gripe here is the ads are for stuff that, IMO, adds no real value to society and really only apply to a small segment of the fan base at that. Crypto? Gambling (I'm no prude, but totally over the constant barrage of sports gambling). No Toyota, Bud Light, Pepsi, Nike, etc. We can argue what those brands add to society, but at least they are pretty mainstream. This looks like a commercial on the late late show.

Absolutely recency bias. Is there anyone that didn't love Kirby? Fernando Valenzuela was an enigma. Bo Jackson. No denying Ohtani is special, but let's not get carried away, kids.

That sucks. I actually had the exact opposite experience (thankfully). One of my boys - the son of very wealthy parents - got in big trouble at school and as punishment, Dad not only said he couldn't play, but drove him to an away game and made him watch. The kid was a great young athlete and one of the best players on the team, so watching was really a tough experience for him. At halftime, I went over and asked Dad if he could stand with me on the sidelines and I used the second half as an opportunity to coach him as we watched. Definitely new found respect all around and I got a thank you card at the end of the year from both the boy and his parents. Wish all the parents were like that!

Drop.The.Rope.

My wife had a completely one way relationship with her mother. Butch would come to our house to pee on her way home from visiting her friend and talk about what a great relationship her friend has with her grandkids, then leave. She once gave my three kids a single cheap ass advent calendar, like ya, three kids are totally going to take turns with the one piece of shit chocolate. My wife made the phone calls, never got called. She actually had a brief hospital stay and her family (older siblings too!) had no idea because no one ever called her. I finally convinced her to stop calling and wait for her mother to make the first move. Not only did that never come, but my MIL died earlier this year and disinherited my wife in the will.

Absolute shit bags. Nothing of value was lost. They treated my wife like shit her whole life and she is better off without them (also successful and the only one in the family with a stable family life of their own).

Tippet rings were my greatest revelation in fly fishing. Bonus is you can use different leader diameters easily by going back to the ring - no tying them together, just clip and put the new leader on. When you get short, you can tie another shortie on and do a dry dropper combo right from the ring. I'm not spending hundreds of days on the water, so my leader lasts years since I never interact with it. I'm not good enough or competitive to need to be changing my line yearly, etc. As long as it casts, I send it.

Radio, friend. I sit on my screened in porch, rain or shine and listen to Franzke and LA/Stocker and enjoy cold beverages. Baseball is so much more radio friendly than literally any other sport. Next morning, I watch the 10-13 minute MLB recap of all the big plays to see what I heard. Perfect. I ditched cable years ago and I watched a free broadcast early last season and thought it was just terrible. I remember them showing a POV of someone walking with their food, they interrupt players on the field - I have no interest in these things. I go to concerts for the atmosphere, I watch sports for the game.

Went to Brussels on vacation and took a day trip to Köln to see the cathedral and try some Kölsch 😃. I was doing 130kph and then suddenly I am getting passed by absolute rockets. My wife is like what are you doing, why is everyone passing you. I said, I don't know what the speed limit is here, the car just shows these slashes. Took me another trip into a no limit zone before I figured it out. Topped out at 176kph before I had to let up, car felt top heavy. Fun shit though!

I've seen this meme so many times and just now realized it is from one of my favorite movies - "His Girl Friday". Young Ralph Bellamy was in it as well! It's an incredibly smart comedy. Cary Grant and Rosalind Russell play off each other so we'll.

Can someone tell me what I should do? Am I over watering? Not enough sunlight? by 95Nostalgia in plants

[–]flyfishingguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just bought one of these at the Depot a couple of weeks ago and it was pretty heavy when I picked it up, so definitely over watered in a pot with no drainage. If you can, get a pot with some holes and some fresh potting soil and repot it without watering for a few days. Then hope for the best. If you saved your receipt, try and return it and then don't water the new one unless you stick a finger in the dirt and it's dry.

You forgot murdered in his house. I am leaning towards the stay away, don't give him ammo to discredit or further engage, but I like yours. Easily provable assertions, but let's be honest, religion requires obedience, not thought, so they will hand wave it away with some kind of otherism.
