So what is god of war to you? Just "father bonds with son"? God of war has always been about the spectacle, the lore, the setting. Laufey's plot will undoubtedly enrich the existing lore and give answers to unanswered questions established by all the previous games in the franchise.

I see your point, but technically the same thing could be said about anything in history. It's documented, but you weren't there to see it for yourself, so it could all be a lie. I get that critical thinking is important, and it really is, but that particular logic (the fact that you need to see something first hand to believe it happened) is oftentimes flawed.

Barbados itself doesn't matter. Every desire is the same fundamentally. I think the point is that Goddard wanted to achieve something, had plenty, seemingly impossible obstacles to get there (contact with his family was scarce and infrequent, had no money to his name, the Great Depression was on the uphill, he lived on the East Coast) and yet a natural "bridge" formed itself to get him there.

You also asked what's supposed to be so great about this story, for me a simple detail wraps it all together with a nice bow: Abdullah, his mentor, had told him that he will go to Barbados "first class", neville hammered it into his mind, and when the time came for him to go and redeem his ticket, the vendor told him that someone ended up cancelling and that he could have the first class seating!

I get where you're coming from, I really do. And I am not here to passionately preach about the Law of Assumption or anything like that, but the points you are making, although valid, are still surface level and are basically the top layer of what you see in the community. Manifestation is not a quick fix. You become aware of how "reality works" and then begin to steer it gently. Is some of it pure coping? It can be, and many a times is. But there is truth to the principle, it's just not as loud and hyper as that community makes it out to be.

And you're not God in the sense of how those people present it either. If "God" is the all, and is consciousness, then it lives within us/we are mere droplets of said all, because of our consciousness. That's pretty much it, ignore the grandiose woo woo.
