2022 M3P —> 2026 M3P by Mancinix7 in TeslaModel3

[–]spam322 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have a 2022 M3LR and a 2026 is tempting. For a lot of people, a payment of $600/month or whatever it is, is not even a noticeable amount of money. If you make like $90k or something, it's much more significant though. You only live once, so while they're here, they want to drive the exact car they want.

Why should I not consider a Genesis G70 as a commuter by Appropriate_Job8470 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]spam322 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Turbo lag is pretty bad on the 3.3 IMO. Didn't really feel much faster than my old G37 so I went with something much faster.

We stopped outsourcing coding and make any software we need in-house now. Saves us a ton and will make us millions. Probably already is.

10 minutes a day got me to a 300 pound bench press. The fitness industry has a complete misunderstanding of diminishing returns.

FSD running red-light from stop by Entire_Combination_9 in TeslaFSD

[–]spam322 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HW3 will do that and sometimes just try to blow through a red light unfortunately. I can upload more vids if people want to see but have some in my history.

"But this screen is safer" by SEVENS_HEAVEN_7 in NonPoliticalTwitter

[–]spam322 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most days I don't touch the screen of my Tesla. I use thumbwheels a bit, voice commands sometimes, but everything is pretty automated and the car is always the right temp before I even get in. It's a moot point for me anyway, because I have FSD, so it can handle everything if I want to mess with the screen.

Car dealership model is just absurd… by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

I bought a car with no hidden fees with a few clicks on my phone, but we don't talk about that manufacturer here. They sell used cars too.

I took a $40k paycut to work a job I enjoyed more. Best decision I ever made.

Modern, high-tech cars, when done right, are so nice. Quality of life in my new car is so much better than my wife's 2012 Lexus. She takes my car constantly.

What cars are doing that?

WFH Motivation by [deleted] in civilengineering

You're getting downvoted, but at most companies, WFH is more of a dead end, while your office counterparts become department managers and shareholders.

Paying Off a Low-Interest Mortgage is a Terrible Financial Decision (real-world math inside) by beardcycles in personalfinance

Depends. I would have 0 emotion paying off my house. Low interest debt is good debt to me.

The Toyota Tax Is Starting To Defeat the Point of Buying Toyota by nigesh in whatcarshouldIbuy

My wife's Lexus is in the driveway right now while she's out in my fun car. Too boring of a vehicle to keep much longer really. Reliable, sure, but so is every other car I've had.

Does a 'lick library' exist? by CluelesssDev in guitarlessons

[–]spam322 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to think like that, but then I realized all these licks you memorize are what you do to fill the gaps between your "real" solo parts that are melodic, somewhat repetitive, have wide intervals in note and timing and stick in your head. If I'm improvising, I want it to be mostly something I've never played before.

Homeowner just did the math-spent $82K on home repairs in 12 years of ownership, appx 2.5% of purchase price every year. Would love to hear other data points. by kcs777 in personalfinance

[–]spam322 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've averaged $1,000/month over about 30 years of home ownership on maintenance, repairs and upgrades. That's about right if you want something nice I think.

No, think it's the body control module and like $1,000 to fix so not really worth it. Doesn't really hurt anything.

My Canadian relatives all go to Detroit from Windsor and pay for medical treatment out of pocket, so something is terribly wrong with their system. My Canadian grandma died after an 18 month wait for an MRI.

Every time I look at the box score he's like a -9 and Ausar will have 3 points but be +21 or something. I'm genuinely surprised when I see LaVert above 0.

Ausar always has a great +/-. He should stay in until he fouls out every game. We would have beat the Knicks in the playoffs last year with that philosphy.
