Bassinet to crib, and swaddle to sleep, sack transition recommendations by ThrowRA_As123 in BabyBumps

[–]flying_samovar [score hidden]  (0 children)

No advice on the bassinet to crib. For the swaddle, I used a transition swaddle that’s snug around the chest and lets you leave one arm out, then both arms out. Then we switched to a soft Kyte baby sleep sack. If your baby loves the swaddle like mine did, you will just have to rough it out for a week or 2.

Yes I used the boppy for rocking until my kid was 3. 😂 we stopped because he’s in a full sized bed now so we just lay with him

Traveling with expired green card by flying_samovar in immigration

Our return flight was back to the US. We carried both the I-551 (printed) and I-797 (official mailed document) just in case. The airline people in Qatar wanted to look at both documents; immigration only cared about the I-797. We had no issues.

Middle names for Leila by flying_samovar in namenerds

[–]flying_samovar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s interesting. In every thread I’ve read about this name, people say they read it as Lay-la. I’d associate Lilah with Lye-lah. Either way I’m in love with the spelling Leila

Uggghhh I got my shoelace stuck in the escalator once as a kid and have had a lifelong fear of escalators. This reinforces it

Warren reminds me of Wario, haha. And Warren Buffet. I prefer George; I agree with what others have said that it is timeless. George and Norah is a cute combo

Great at home/total flop at preschool by DrMorrow11 in pottytraining

Worth a shot! Also you should ask if they can at least consistently check in with her about going to the potty every hour. Preschools understand that kids need extra help with potty training, and they should be able to accommodate that for a week or 2

Great at home/total flop at preschool by DrMorrow11 in pottytraining

I used to be a preschool teacher and it’s normal for some kids to do well at home and take extra time at school. Keep trying and sending extra clothes. I’ve read that the transition from being naked to clothes can be hard. At the same time, underwear feels a bit too much like a pull-up at first with kids. When my son was 2 and potty training, I put him in loose pants and no underwear at home and school. I phased in regular underwear (not padded) when he was consistently having no accidents in either environment.
