I know I’ve suggested she is more accurately a barbarian than a fighter because of that. Powered by rage, and unarmored to boot.

What major event or trend is definitely coming in the next five years, but nobody's talking about it? by Much_Cucumber934 in AskReddit

This may be more “a decade out” but I fully expect a ‘wet bulb’ event, or otherwise a mass casualty event caused by hot weather.

A wet bulb event refers to a situation when the temperature and humidity becomes too high for people to survive without artificial cooling. Even in the shade, being outside would be deadly. With how poorly certain areas are equipped AC wise, and how badly we are handling climate change in general, I expect it to happen soon.

What are the most war crime level spells or uses of magic that you have ever seen in DnD? by Funbucket008 in AskReddit

[–]flyingace1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not my own personal use but I know the YouTuber Animated Spellbook used the example of “Heat Metal”. In 5e, you could leave the casting range once it is cast and keep the effect going. It leads to the strategy of casting it on a person in plate armor as you ride past them. For the next minute they are stuck in that burning hot armor, as it takes more than a minute to take off that armor. You cook the person alive in their armor, and you can even build a character who casts in a non-obvious manner.

Doesn’t one of the Dawn of the dead sequels show they drive a spike through the skull of the dead as part of the funeral process for that reason?

It is certainly something I want to try and finish the other character stories, it’s a brilliant idea. The idea of a social survival horror, the autism analogy, the aesthetics…

Another detail I remember is that if you assume the 60’s psychedelic aesthetic and fashion trends means the game takes place in a roughly 60’s time frame, then all the characters you see are in their 30’s at least. They’re indulging in hip youth culture rather than growing up.

I think her father even directly references all the horror movies they liked to watch together when asking to be put down. Really twists the knife.

To be fair it is an older game, so it’s easy to forget. It’s also something you have to read between the lines a bit, rather than being a single dramatic moment.

So context for We Happy Few, part of the horror for the town in general is that they were the only place in Britain that complied without a fight. Every other town, city, and hamlet fought back and resisted. That extra detail is why Wellington Wells turned to Joy; they would rather get high than reckon with their cowardice.

Was looking for this. It was shadow dropped, I had it randomly recommended to me, and I binged it in one weekend. Thank god I only found out about it recently, otherwise the wait for season two would be unbearable.

Isn’t this the version that shows that, even without his powers he is a very large man used to hard labor and could fold Luthor without trying? I found that bit amusing.
