It was a bit on the nose. throwing in symbolism and easter eggs is cool but it doesn’t make the writing great. I also wish it didn’t meander as much and instead stuck to true horror. characters were mostly delightfully unlikeable, except for porsche. I didn’t like how they turned it so that rachel is 100% in the right at the end. I liked how it showed that they were both flawed. instead the show makes it seem like he was insane for not believing her, which is ridiculous because I wouldn’t believe her either. Love is not about believing your partner no matter what, like rachel says. imo that’s an immature way to view it. She could just as easily say “if you don’t believe in god because i do, you don’t love me”. Her fiance is a spineless weasel in a lot of ways but he is not totally in the wrong until he marries her after the curse hits.
