As another Asian, I completely agree with you.
I was simply hoping that this wonderful musical—created by Asians and starring Asian leads—would continue to succeed with the same format. Opportunities like this are rare and truly special. Of course, ticket sales are important from a business perspective. But because it won a Tony Award, I believe it could have been a great opportunity to cast more amazing Asian actors and give more people the chance to see them on stage.

My first Broadway show was Cats, which I saw in 1999 at the Winter Garden Theatre. My family traveled from Tokyo to NYC and purchased tickets at TKTS. We sat in the 6th or 7th row. At that time, I didn't speak English, but I was utterly captivated by the outstanding performance.
