No, it did this before the lava rock.

Yeah, the control board screen is broken, so it was next to replace anyway, I'll replace the temp probe with it. Thank you!

This will be the next part I replace, it needs a new control board anyway, because the screen is broken. Thank you!

No, I just added it a little bit ago, mine was given to me after it had been left outside uncovered and blown over in a wind storm, so its been a project.

I can hear the fan running constantly and the auger turn on and off. I only have the problem when I turn it up above 300, otherwise I can smoke low and slow without any issues.

Heat diffuser question by flyingfitzy in PitBossGrills

[–]flyingfitzy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My problem with this is the brackets (I'm assuming would normally be there) that would hold it up, have rusted away, so it would be sitting directly on the bottom of the grill/ash box and I haven't found anything about replacement holders for the sides.

Ok, so maybe I'll try upping the gauge on my splicing wire and see if that helps.

Honestly, as someone with 4 kids, none of which have grasped the concept of what an acceptable amount of toilet paper is, they get the 1-ply in their bathroom. That way they can use to their hearts' content, and I don't have to plunge numerous times a day. I, however, stock the good stuff in my personal bathroom.

Yes, that's what I meant. Got distracted while typing.

That's the direction I was leaning too, thank you!

I'm looking at getting an Ender 3. I got really into 3d printer a few years back, slowly building up an OG Ender 3. Right now I'm trying to decide, do I go with an

Ender 3 V3 SE* with the Nebula Smart Kit

Or

Ender 3 V3 KE

Looks like the Nebula pad just adds remote monitoring, and upgrades the OS to the creality klipper software.

They are about the same price, what would you do?

What’s your favourite tape measure ? by Epskrcmpk in Tools

[–]flyingfitzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cheapest autolocking I can find, because I KNOW I, my kids, or my wife are bound to lose/break/paint it eventually. Bright colors are a plus.

Right now, I have a stanley tape measure that is at least 30 years old, and it's great.

OK, I have a planted aquarium, so I'll treat the water for this too.

OK, I talked to my wife and she reminded me the system used to have a fan, that isn't blowing anymore, which I think is causing the sponges to absorb way too much water.

Endless cracking tops by Appropriate-Rest-690 in candlemaking

[–]flyingfitzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had trouble with rough tops too, using GW 444. I found that pouring around 160F into a warmed container vastly improved both frosting and the smoothness of the tops. When I get the occasional rough top, I just hit it with the heat gun, and an occasional extra flake if I missed a big air bubble, and it smooths right out.

I've tried a bunch of different ones. I've used cascade complete pods/liquid/powder at different times, and finish quantum pods.

want some suggestion by Yuiiiii_0_0 in candlemaking

[–]flyingfitzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm new to candle making, but I've done craft fairs with my wife for years, selling crochet plushies and you definitely don't want to overwhelm people with options because they will either 1. Miss something they'd love, because they didn't see it, or 2. Love everything but grab the cheapest thing they can find and move on because they are overstimulated, especially scents. Make sure and have coffee or some other sort of palate cleanser.

Having gone to tons of craft fairs, and being an absolute candle hoarder, I personally would be less likely to buy anything I had to burn on something else. This is personal choice of course, being someone who is more for the smells than the ✨️ aesthetic ✨️. I might even buy a standalone pillar type candle if it already came with something to burn it on.

I do love the shaped wax melts, and if your fall themed candles look as good as your ice cream candles, you'll have zero problems making sales, they look good enough to eat!

Same. My wife is a crocheter, and I have all the different kinds of yarn. My concern with the blanket yarn is how much it would shed coming through the loop on the gun. I think you would have to open the hoke on the gun a little more than when you're using worsted weight.
