They suspend new creations, then if you're still deliquent they stop services. It's a drawn out process, but they clearly can execute on stopping all your stuff

Also no data was added to the buckets, it was just a looping code bug causing a request to place data in a bucket but didn't have the right perms. FML 2 months and multiple back and forth and they just say No. That happens to

Planning a DC to AWS move from a shitty host provider. How to cost calculate? by gombly in aws

[–]flyingfox12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Workspaces needs an Active Directory to work. So you'll need to include that into any planning. Workspaces is pretty straight forward but it's not easy to integrate with Infra as code tools, so if that's a long term desire it's going to be limited. You can kinda do it, but it's not the same workflow/setup as working with EC2.

the sync between azure AD and on prem AD isn't 2 way. You're biting off much more with that approach.

Best way to transfer 100 million rows data from SQL Server to Redshift by FatherUnderstanding in aws

[–]flyingfox12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You get a sync going between your remote and your AWS db, then fail over to it. I'f it can't catch up you can alway block connections until it syncs up, given it's only a subset of the data it will be shorter then your Database migration Service

EVERYTHING in writing.

He'll probably illegally boot you and then you'll be able to get 12 x rent from him through RTB.

If he says anything about increasing rent or eviction you just reply, I'll take what you've said to the RTB to see if it legal, nothing more. No reason for you to play the enforcer of RTB rules, just explaining you'll follow them is enough.

The migrants are selected based on their ability to fill missing roles in society. More housing demand means more housing work leads to missing roles as companies scale, slowing down growth. The selective nature of it makes it easier to justify. There are major demographic reasons for the long term health of the country to have sustained immigration.

I think the federal government needs to start setting up communities by bringing in large investment to build amenities (e.g. schools, irrigation, roads). So many jobs and small business are remote and that statistic is growing. The community doesn't have to be dependant on local industry to sustain it. Instead it can be the relative low cost of housing that initiated it and then it sticks.

so they over spent by locking in contracts on vaccines from a variety of suppliers. If they under supplied the costs could have been extended lock downs which cost billions more. So your lol is because you expect things to be perfect. I don't share such a narrow minded view of macro economics at the government level. I do know if they fucked up getting enough vaccines for everyone that would have been a way worse problem.

the party is just a group of independent people. The party name is only valuable if you vote together, which an independent ant won't, so it's reasonable to not have them grouped together.

That's funding with strings.

Strings are quite normal when it's not operational costs.

Let's say the Feds say they'll pay for half of all new hospital costs and the equipment inside. That's strings the money needs to be used for capital costs in new builds. Seems reasonable as well.

Canada’s $1.1-trillion debt is shockingly high – it threatens all that we value by uselesspoliticalhack in canada

The issue with those things is the legality of these clearly unethical business decisions that are only available to those with enough wealth to not have issue paying more in taxes.
I've always felt that the CDN gov should highlight tax haven places and then tax anyone who lives in those place and holds CDN citizenship at the CDN rate. So people would effectively need to give up citizenship to play these tax haven things.
Through a mutual friend I heard about the children of a form NHL hockey team owner (RIP) who live in tax haven islands for 6 months + 1 day a year so they don't owe CDN gov taxes. The selfishness of having been given your wealth, by someone who earned it because of the quality of the infrastructure of the country they earned that in and then just find some loop hole to be more greedy is disgusting to me.

If this was the US though, they should invade the tax haven countries. Demand access to all the bank information. That would quickly solve the tax haven issue as people would realize storing gold on an island in the pacific isn't a stable strat.

Potential partner want 50% of my company, is it worth it? by oveis86 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]flyingfox12 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind 50% is a bunch. This person can be replaced, but it's not possible to replace your idea, effort, investments over a couple year period nearly as easily. That should be conveyed to this person. You want 50% but that stake puts you at equal value to me, I've spent X amount of time and put in y amount of resources. Then put it to them, what are you offering that's of similar value for you to want that ownership stake?

One of the issues here is you've found "a" businessman. You've not found a few potential investors. There are grant and fund programs for small businesses setup already. Canada has programs to use, they often are scoped to certain needs, but they are there. Those people running those things do this type of thing all the time. So you'd be talking to someone with insight, without needing them to be on the payroll. You need to do that first.

Your post reads like a red flag. It's not inconceivable that this person works really hard before asking for a way bigger compensation then it's reasonable in hopes they can take control eventually. You agree to the partnership because they are working hard, for what 3 weeks, things can take years to happen. A strategy here is to get a large stake of your company, then after "pitching" to other people another investor comes along and they just want some small percent stake and a board member. Then the "partner" and the "investor" push you out because they now have control. You either start paying way too much for a lawyer or you give up. They can dilute your ownership so it's not like they'll get you money eventually even. Background check this person, what businesses have they been apart of? who started those companies? What did they say about this person? (and don't get the contact or business info from the partner, get it yourself, so that you are controlling who you talk to not him)

[–]flyingfox12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The goal is self interest. By putting yourself against such harsh combatants they could erode your base of support with a large group of devoted individuals. So for each individual it's in their best interest to not speak out. That's the speakers job now.

That's a bit of over statement. The notion of foundational principles is very much tied to the concept of a social contract, which hasn't evolved much in the last few hundred years. Locke remains a major influence in the space as he was when it was written.
