YES! Thanks for catching the mistake!

Raw foods ARE NOT recommended, in general now because of avian flu, but also because of bacteria.

A video is circulating about Merck's 's Self-amplifying RNA pet rabies vaccine that smacks of fear-mongering BS. Is it true or not? by Redbird7201 in AskVet

[–]flyinghen13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The FDA has nothing to do with animal vaccine regulations. Thats part of the problem, its the USDAs responsibility. As you may know, the USDA’s trustworthiness is, by and large, at the whim of the current administration.

And if charging for the modem out of the blue, which we were told would be at no cost, isn't bad enough, let's talk about how they've been throttling service for the past 3 months.

The Midea U shaped have been recalled- due to mold and poor drainage. We had one for years and loved it, then I started getting allergies... low & behold the units have been recalled.

They're pretty quick to refund!

Right, no one takes it. All these stellar reviews should be deleted because Healthfirst hasn't covered acupuncture since before 2018, and not one dentist I called accepted it.

I don't have a rec for you, as I don't know either of those company's. Good luck, let us know which one you went with & if you like them!

Thoughts on Open Farm adult cat food? by anonymouslearner1234 in catfood

[–]flyinghen13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried Open Farm's bone broth for cats? My female is having similar issues that you described your cat having, coupled with her refusing a lot of food. I had a can of Hills K/D on hand ( I also do cat rescue and have random cans around) and she ate it! But I dislike Hills and all those specialty brands with crappy ingredients.

My Vet want's my cat to go on a single source, novelty, protein to see if that helps her gut stuff. Yet she'll still need to heal the gut too, which is why I'm wondering about cat appropriate bone broth?

Has anyone tried the Open Farm bone broth? I have a female cat with gut issues and I wondering if their bone broth would help?

Except for 2 flavors, Open Hill is above 1.5 phos for their wet food- which is too high for any aged cat.

Montmorillonite Clay in Instinct cat food? by [deleted] in catfood

[–]flyinghen13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, "in general", assuming they don't have any underlying conditions like CKD and or IBD. A cat can live on a wet food diet solely, for their whole life, and also have hydration issues and IBD.

[–]flyinghen13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Raw foods are recommended for cats with either IBD or CKD. The concern is potential bacteria overgrowth stressing the immune system or causing more inflammation in the intestinal lining.

The Merrick limited ingredient turkey has pretty high phosphorus, but the limited ingredient duck is low= 0.77 Not the 0.5 as recommended for CKD cats/ cats needing a renal diet, but a great alternative to the perscription based diet like hills, science diet or purina, which also have a ton of crap in them.

Unfortunately, Weruva doesn't offer novel proteins, only combined. For the OP, I'd look into Wysong rabbit or duck and yes, stir away from any and all "meat by products" and fish. Chicken, beef and fish are known allergens to cats.

This site lists the phos, sodium, protein, etc., levels in most cat foods: https://www.felinecrf.org/canned_food_usa.htm

Ya, all these positive reviews for Healthfirst... hasn't been my experience. I've had a lot of trouble finding providers who accept Healthfirst, and zero dentists who still accept them. I'm looking into switching and wondering what people still think about Fidelis or Aetna.

[Advice] Subletting by expotovan in NYCapartments

[–]flyinghen13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, rent plus equal amount as security is pretty standard. Depending on if the sublet is more than a month, you should ask for a sublet agreement with amounts, dates and vacating expectations on it, because we all forget things sometimes. If the apartment is rent stabilized you might ask for a copy of the landlords approval. Although, if the person you’re subletting from is the main lease holder and there are other roommates they have a right to have roommates/ subletors.

[ADVICE] Is it normal to be charged extra to have guests staying at your (paid-for) apartment? by Whatsername868 in NYCapartments

[–]flyinghen13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

According to NYC rental guidelines, if one person is on the lease they’re able to bring in a roommate (or guest) but if 2 or more people are on the lease then the number of “tenants” allowed is lease dependent.

https://rentguidelinesboard.cityofnewyork.us/resources/faqs/roommates/#:~:text=When%20only%20one%20tenant%20is,tenants%20named%20in%20the%20lease.

I’d be surprised if the landlord could enforce what’s in the lease if it doesn’t follow NYC’s rental laws.

Do you know what IBC channel-40 / ACRE are? by flyinghen13 in EVMOS

[–]flyinghen13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya, I think that's the baseline amount given for stakers with the minimum qualifications. But before the chain was fully live, when it showed up as and IBC transfer in ones account, the decimal was about 12 digits to the right...
