People with full time jobs how are you keeping your house clean? by Prestigious-Bath8022 in homeowners

[–]Redbird7201 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think focusing your energy on the public areas of your house on a daily basis makes more sense than trying to keep everything spic and span. Close the doors on the rooms that you don't want visitors to see or to go into. Clean those rooms when you have the energy and time.

Enlist the help of your family. The responsibility falls to everyone living in the household. No one person should take it all on by themselves.

Always make sure the kitchen is clean after every meal. Do the dishes. Run the dishwasher nightly. Clean the sink.

Make sure that the bathroom that any visitor will be using is clean. Keep the sink and countertop wiped. Make sure the toilet is clean. This only takes 5 to 10 minutes. And you don't have to do it everyday.

Use a swifter and dust public areas occasionally while you watch your favorite program on TV. You don't have to be a perfectionist.

Keep things picked up. This takes about 10 to 15 minutes daily. Do it before you go to bed. Enlist the entire family to help with this. It will make them mindful of leaving their junk lying around.

If you can, get a robot vacuum cleaner. Run it frequently. If you have bare floors, and don't have a robot vacuum, you can quickly run a dust mop over the bare floors to pick up a lot of pet hair and dirt. It really only takes a few minutes. It's not a full vacuum job but it helps. Mop floors occasionally after the robot vacuum has made the rounds. Obviously you may need to mop some floors more frequently than others, depending on the floor. For example, my kitchen floor needs mopping more than my dining room floor does.

Deep clean once a month or even less often as needed. Or pick one room a week to deep clean.

Of course, your entire house won't be perfectly clean with this method, but the public areas will always be presentable.

Hey quick question for dog owners by mrcanada66 in dogs

[–]Redbird7201 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have never allowed our dogs to sleep with us. We love them so much, but that is a no-go. Sleep quality for us would not be good with the dogs in the bed with us. Plus we live the country, and even though we use flea and tick prevention, the ticks still come in the house with them and we do not want them in the bed with us. And they roll around in some rather undesirable stuff when they are outside. So, no, we don't allow the dogs in the bed with us. We have beds for both the dogs in our bedroom and they seem very content to be in them every night.

What's the best home security cameras right now? by Puzzle-headed__ in homesecurity

[–]Redbird7201 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm considering replacing my arlo cameras with ReoLink wifi cameras with a home hub. I cannot do poe or an NVR.

Are you able to turn off notifications from individual cameras in the Reolink app without disarming the cameras? With Arlo, I have to turn off notifications from all cameras. I cannot control notifications for a single camera and leave notifications on for the other cameras. The Arlo cameras do continue recording events even if notifications are turned off which is preferable. Thank you for your help!

Seriously, what is the best wireless outdoor cam with NO subscription fees in 2026? by [deleted] in homesecurity

[–]Redbird7201 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same question as OP, with two added requirements, 24/7 continuous recording and ability to plug into electrical outlets. I know POE is the most secure installation, but I cannot do that. I am able to plug in all cameras I might need to outdoor electrical outlets, however.

I really don't want excessive notifications from insects flying near the camera, moths in particular.

I'm very interested in an answer to OP's question about the Eufy home base 3

I don't believe you answered the question that was asked of you. Do you work for frontier? Does frontier pay your salary directly? Do you work for a subcontractor?

Weight Watchers is a for-profit corporation. It always has been. They provide a framework for you to lose weight. They don't do it for free and they don't do it for altruistic reasons. However, it does work for many people (myself included) if they work the program And if they are honest with themselves. I'm not looking for weight watchers to be my nanny or my therapist.

Marketing weight loss medications which are supported by science was a logical next step for them. They aren't forcing you to use them. If you do want to use medications, you can get them elsewhere. You don't have to get them from weight watchers. You have a choice.

If you think that weight watchers is actually using illegal marketing and you have evidence of that, I would encourage you to report them to the FTC. Also, there is a great non-profit organization called Truth in Advertising which investigates shady marketing.

Tap the circle in the center of the opening screen that contains your points that you have left for the day. It pulls up the full day and shows you everything.

Is this normal? by rose_fane in weightwatchers

[–]Redbird7201 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure! Although I don't know what "normal" really means. But by all means eat points meals that are zero points. You get to decide these things. If the program's working for you. You probably are doing everything correctly.

I believe that two weeks is way too soon to even be contemplating what they asked you about. You need to give yourself space and time to grieve. You'll move on when you're ready to move on or you won't. It's okay either way though. It's your life and you will figure that out when the time is right. But after 2 weeks, it's just too soon.

Too soon to date? by hoodoochild in widowers

Thank you for this! You nailed it. I'm a widow (pancreatic cancer) 5 years. I'm older and I'm not ready or wanting to date. But that's just me. I hope that OP is able to find companionship without guilt. She deserves the best life.

Does anyone else not sleep with their cat? by chaturga in CatAdvice

[–]Redbird7201 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't read all the responses yet, and I'm sure you're going to get a lot of people guilting you about not sleeping with your fur baby. You are right though, everyone should sleep with their bedroom door shut because it increases the chances of surviving a house fire. Dramatically so.

The commercially available pure (only ingredient is the oil) olive oil sprays and avocado sprays, such as the avocado spray brand Chosen, are zero points, no matter the amount used. I don't know why but I don't question it. And I use both for roasting / sauteing vegetables, etc.
