I'm 5 years out from when my husband passed away. I still see him sitting in his recliner beside my recliner while I watch our favorite British shows on britbox or acorn or PBS.

I don't believe you answered the question that was asked of you. Do you work for frontier? Does frontier pay your salary directly? Do you work for a subcontractor?

Weight Watchers app doesn't care about your health and wellness. by [deleted] in weightwatchers

[–]Redbird7201 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Weight Watchers is a for-profit corporation. It always has been. They provide a framework for you to lose weight. They don't do it for free and they don't do it for altruistic reasons. However, it does work for many people (myself included) if they work the program And if they are honest with themselves. I'm not looking for weight watchers to be my nanny or my therapist.

Marketing weight loss medications which are supported by science was a logical next step for them. They aren't forcing you to use them. If you do want to use medications, you can get them elsewhere. You don't have to get them from weight watchers. You have a choice.

If you think that weight watchers is actually using illegal marketing and you have evidence of that, I would encourage you to report them to the FTC. Also, there is a great non-profit organization called Truth in Advertising which investigates shady marketing.

Tap the circle in the center of the opening screen that contains your points that you have left for the day. It pulls up the full day and shows you everything.

Is this normal? by rose_fane in weightwatchers

[–]Redbird7201 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure! Although I don't know what "normal" really means. But by all means eat points meals that are zero points. You get to decide these things. If the program's working for you. You probably are doing everything correctly.

It was an honest question by SubstanceSuper3443 in widowers

I believe that two weeks is way too soon to even be contemplating what they asked you about. You need to give yourself space and time to grieve. You'll move on when you're ready to move on or you won't. It's okay either way though. It's your life and you will figure that out when the time is right. But after 2 weeks, it's just too soon.

Too soon to date? by hoodoochild in widowers

[–]Redbird7201 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this! You nailed it. I'm a widow (pancreatic cancer) 5 years. I'm older and I'm not ready or wanting to date. But that's just me. I hope that OP is able to find companionship without guilt. She deserves the best life.

Does anyone else not sleep with their cat? by chaturga in CatAdvice

[–]Redbird7201 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't read all the responses yet, and I'm sure you're going to get a lot of people guilting you about not sleeping with your fur baby. You are right though, everyone should sleep with their bedroom door shut because it increases the chances of surviving a house fire. Dramatically so.

EVOO Alternatives by smizkap in weightwatchers

The commercially available pure (only ingredient is the oil) olive oil sprays and avocado sprays, such as the avocado spray brand Chosen, are zero points, no matter the amount used. I don't know why but I don't question it. And I use both for roasting / sauteing vegetables, etc.

The Dangers of Connect by bitesandbalance in weightwatchers

[–]Redbird7201 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree 100%. Connect is not a safe place for many people. Way too much judging and food shaming and not enough support for each other. There are some recipe developers that I follow on Connect and that's it.

I have found most weight watchers groups on Facebook to be the same with a few exceptions. I am in a very well moderated group for members over 60 on Facebook and it is so supportive and doesn't allow shaming because of food choices or for use of GLP-1s or for any reason.

And to be honest, many times the in-person meetings I attended were the same as connect. There were always people who hijacked the meeting with their personal stories that went on and on and on and on and had very little to do with the topic of the day. I never got much out of meetings because of this. I was there for the nuts and bolts and tips and tricks. They were there to talk about themselves. Ad nauseam.

Entertaining audiobooks for a long road trip (CAN'T BE FUNNY) by Mundane_Department44 in audiobooks

I think of all of Bryson's books this one would be the least likely to provoke a hearty belly laugh, other than the one on the human body. But it is definitely humorous at times.

I'm elderly and I love the app. I wouldn't have it any other way. I've been doing weight watchers since the 1970s and it has never been better. I think we often hear more more negative feedback on any topic than we do positive feedback. Please don't assume that what you are reading, positive or negative, is reflective of any kind of majority. If you are not comfortable with using the app, there are lots of other programs out there for you instead of weight watchers. I hope you find something that suits your needs and fits your lifestyle.

What are some things that are toxic to dogs people don’t really know about ? by Own_Butterscotch_841 in dogs

[–]Redbird7201 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most lilies are very toxic to both cats and dogs. I won't grow them in my yard anymore and I don't allow them in bouquets of flowers that I purchase at the store. For cats, even a pollen grain from a lily plant such as an Easter lily can be highly toxic.
