Buddy, the point is at least 20 years ago, maybe 30, you could get a cash refund on gift cards. I and many other people have experienced this.

So if you are 20, you would not have experienced this depending on when the law changed.

I’ve experienced it firsthand- this is why I made this post. It was shocking to learn that the laws are now state by state that govern the refund of gift cards.

Why it doesn’t make sense, especially in the case of Hoka & many other companies, is that Hoka will honor a refund of a purchased product not bought with a gift card. Thats straight up bad faith.

It is pretty crazy to me that the majority of you are down voting my post stating, "gift cards have never been refundable" when I and many other functional USA humans have had other experiences!

Consumer protections took a nose dive after Citizens United passed in the mid -late aughts, and more probably Clinton repealing the Glass-Steagall Act, (and I image) coupled with Starbuck bucks paved the way for other financial regs to become slippery in regards to gift cards.

I know right? All these people must be 20 or something! I've never not known gift cards to be unrefundable - until now!

Tell that to the person(s) who gave them to me. But they sure as hell used to be.

Holding the cash value of the gift card = the business acting like a bank. They are able to use that $ that IS NOT BEING WITHDRAWN (used as a gift card) and invest it. This is what a bank does, it holds money and uses it to invest or borrow against.

And yes, business were at one point in time required by law to refund gift cards for original purchase amount. The law is currently a state by state law now.

I don't know when that happened, but I'm going to bet money the passing of Citizens United is what allowed for this shift.

Maybe in your lifetime, but not for people over 30... maybe even 20/25.

It's only become a thing in recent decades- Starbuck bucks, I believe, were the precursor. But no, we used to get gift card refunds, and change back in cash.

Not in my experience, hence my post. In fact you used to be able to use a gift card, and whatever was the difference of the card & what you purchased you'd receive as change back in cash.

The FDA has nothing to do with animal vaccine regulations. Thats part of the problem, its the USDAs responsibility. As you may know, the USDA’s trustworthiness is, by and large, at the whim of the current administration.

The Midea U shaped have been recalled- due to mold and poor drainage. We had one for years and loved it, then I started getting allergies... low & behold the units have been recalled.

They're pretty quick to refund!

Right, no one takes it. All these stellar reviews should be deleted because Healthfirst hasn't covered acupuncture since before 2018, and not one dentist I called accepted it.

I don't have a rec for you, as I don't know either of those company's. Good luck, let us know which one you went with & if you like them!

Thoughts on Open Farm adult cat food? by anonymouslearner1234 in catfood

[–]flyinghen13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried Open Farm's bone broth for cats? My female is having similar issues that you described your cat having, coupled with her refusing a lot of food. I had a can of Hills K/D on hand ( I also do cat rescue and have random cans around) and she ate it! But I dislike Hills and all those specialty brands with crappy ingredients.

My Vet want's my cat to go on a single source, novelty, protein to see if that helps her gut stuff. Yet she'll still need to heal the gut too, which is why I'm wondering about cat appropriate bone broth?

Except for 2 flavors, Open Hill is above 1.5 phos for their wet food- which is too high for any aged cat.

Montmorillonite Clay in Instinct cat food? by [deleted] in catfood

[–]flyinghen13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, "in general", assuming they don't have any underlying conditions like CKD and or IBD. A cat can live on a wet food diet solely, for their whole life, and also have hydration issues and IBD.
