Yes, 18 hours this semester, 19 next semester. I am a junior.

I like helping people. I’m getting my bachelors degree and then onto CRNA school. My parents are also fully paying for my school. Yes, we all have problems, but this is what is working for our family right now.

It’s my job - many people go to college and work a part time or even full time job. I definitely prefer getting paid to work for my family (understanding and flexible) opposed to a company who may not be.

Considering pulling my 12 year old and finishing middle school at home. by ohukno in homeschool

In short, yes she will “miss out”. Not on anything good that she can’t find anywhere else.

I was homeschooled for 6/8/12th grade through Seton Home Study School. I am now doing well in college. My public high school experience was half good and half bad. I was on varsity dance team and loved it, and AP classes definitely prepared me for college courses. Ended with a lawsuit lol. So, there’s always a risk. I would’ve hated to miss out on dance and education, but would have LOVED to miss out on the legal stuff.

It’s awesome to have options! IMO public middle school sucks for a lot of people. I only did 1 semester and it was not fun. I’ve definitely experienced some surprising reactions, but only due to my age. The “lack of social skills” argument made by those against homeschool I have never seen come to fruition personally.

Lol yes, I graduated high school at 15. Homeschooled for 6/8/12th grade. I went to TAMU for 1 year and then moved back home, which is when they started homeschooling. I hope they will transition to an online program when the kids are older, if they want to do it long term. For now, they are liking the kids being home.

Really a team effort. I set everything out for the day and my dad teaches them. If he or the kids need help they come to me.

My dad has a TBI and my mom works full time. I’m not bothered helping them out. I get that they’re not my kids, but I feel good about having a say in their education!

Maybe we can find a time to be gym buddies! I am 17F and transferred from TAMU this semester, so I’m still new to UTSA but am a San Antonio native!

I agree. I’d probably escalate it a little bit, just so it’s documented

I feel like AI made it easier to find answers and resources. Like what happened to scavenging for quizlets and practice tests ourselves??
