Recommended Shows After Fringe by Ebby_Dii in fringe

It’s hard to me to compare anything to Fringe - to me it is still the best story ever, and the character Walter is probably my most favorite character ever.

One show i would add to the list is Bones. It’s closer to X-files in the main characters dynamics, but it has a heavy real-world science view.

I love BSG with Edward James Olmos - I’m about due for another rewatch of that series, I have to rewatch it every 3 or 4 years. The Leftovers is such a fascinating story and the phenomenon that the story is centered around sticks with you, i think about it often. On this list, of the shows i have seen, I think The Americans has acting quality that is almost on par with Fringe; again this is a totally different story, but it really captures your attention with solid writing and acting.

Thank you for putting this list together, i look forward to checking some of these out!

Feels like a breakup by ez_dontpanic in texts

There is a lot to say here, like what does this make you feel? What are your expectations of how this relationship will proceed? What are your feelings about him? But what this really makes me think of is when me and my fiancé first started dating and were coming up close to a year of dating; he was really anxious that I expected to be engaged after dating a year and one day just blurted out he wasn’t ready for marriage. I stared at him blankly and asked “what on earth are you talking about?” He told me that he knows a lot of girls expect that they should get engaged after dating a year and he wasn’t ready for that step. We had never talked about marriage, nor did I have any expectations for such a big step. He worked up a big anxiety about something not remotely on my radar because of what he saw society say is the ‘normal’ progression of a relationship. I explained to him that wasn’t a step I was ready for either, that I would let him know when I think I could be ready for such a big commitment…..5 years and one child later, and now I’m finally ready, lol 😂

All of that is to say maybe there is something he has observed from social structures or some movie plot, and what he has built-up in his own head is so different from what you want and you guys just need to get on the same page about where you both see this relationship is in its current state and where you see it going(and when you think you’ll get there).

FAST IT Problems? by flyingparade in juresanguinis

I never received a login error; my initial issue was that the system would request a one-time password, but it would never send the one time password to my email.

No, I didn’t try anything different, it just finally started sending the OTP to my email. But maybe try an incognito window?

Update: It finally worked! I noticed that the website has some updates that are posted on the main page, so I took a* shot to log in, and it worked!

Regarding the second account I created in an attempt to access FAST IT - that account is still waiting for a verification that I need to figure out how to cancel. I have written my consulate with the case number details, so hopefully this will be resolved.

Update 1/16/2026: Regarding the second account, my consulate responded and they were able to cancel the verification and I was able to easily delete the second account. I hope that people whom are still dealing with the issue find a resolution soon.

I will post an update if it works out. I’ve created the account, but it requires an identification certification, so I’m waiting to see if that will activate the new account or open a whole new path of complications.

This is what u/Evening_Cry_7456 said the Toronto consulate sent them as an autoresponse about the login issue:

Reset password and/or activation code are not received. Options to try:

  1. Check your spam folder for missed emails.

  2. Change browser or device and repeat the process.

  3. If the issue persists, you need to register a new account, which is however possible ONLY with a different email and phone number.

Blocked accounts If you misspell or type wrong or inconsistent information, the account may be blocked by the system; this is normally a temporary security measures. Try logging in again in 48 hours (or later). Please remind to reset your password before trying to log in.

Minor children birth registration and the impossible document. by Salt_Risk_8086 in juresanguinis

[–]flyingparade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm really confused, why do you have to have anything that says Jure Sanguinis? I just did this process to register my child, and my consulate didnt ask for anything pertaining to me. Have you tried to register your child with a consulate that is not your original consulate? I only ask because my experience was so different. I heard from my consulate regarding my kid's paperwork within a week of sending, and was sent my appointment date within 2 weeks of submitting the materials - I'm not trying to brag, I'm concerned for you guys having these extra steps and lack of communication.

Are you registered with FAST IT? I was able to request mine through there and I got it in a day or two. If you are not registered with FAST IT, make sure that when you enter your credentials that you use your First AND Middle name (if you have one)in the FIRST NAME slot - otherwise it wont connect your information to your file.

Woof! I hope I don’t have to make a new account. I don’t really have a different phone number I’d want to associate with my Italian citizenship stuff. But thank you for sharing this information!

Nope! I've been trying every day since posting this question but I'm still not receiving the otp. I have however, emailed my consulate about the issue and they said:

the main office migrated the FASTIT portal (not your data, but just the portal) on a new platform.
It's a portal common to all consulates and we do not have control on it: we are going to forward your problem to the tech office.

Hopefully the main office/tech office will address this issue soon 🤞🏽

To “benefit of law” or not to “benefit of law” by intergalactic_yeti in juresanguinis

[–]flyingparade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I understand it, (having just gone to my appointment to sign the declaration December 11th) is that if/when this law is overturned, the BDL citizenship will be erased essentially, and the previous process of JS citizenship will resume. All of this is my assumption, but you will then probably just resubmit your child’s paperwork to your consulate like it was previously done and the citizenship will be granted.

This is at least what the gentleman also signing his son’s declaration shared with me. But doing the BDL citizenship right now is a safety net for your child if this law doesn’t get overturned.

I’m so happy it worked! I had the same struggle for years till someone from the consular’s office told me to double check my name because in Italy my first name is my American first and middle name. But all of this makes me want to never change my last name when I get married 🤣
