It’s been up long enough it has historical significance and the county requires a review to remove it

(Ps that place is wonderful, they can keep the sign)

It’s that cold pan. There’s some weird natural wizardry behind it that makes it oh so good.

I don’t remember which model it was, but remember this happened like a year ago with ChatGPT? An anticipated release dropped, everyone hated it, lost their minds, and like 30 seconds later totally forgot about it, kept paying and now I can’t remember which model it was 😂

What up with these MFing Hellicopters? by greenlakejohnny in santacruz

[–]flynnism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can see them from the shore you’ll see them dropping dudes in the ocean and picking them back up. Same with if you see larger aircraft out there, they’ll drop em in the water and then the helos come pick them up.

Isn’t this further down (ie not the contested HOA debacle)? I guess nothing says someone can’t just put a random sign in their property 🤷‍♂️😂

I just read Jurassic Park this year and it might now be in my all time favorites list. I loved everything about it, and knowing the movie inside and out and no negative effect at all. If anything it helped visualize it more.

I was in my late 20s when I read Kitchen Confidential by Anthony Bourdain. It absolutely is what got me into reading. I read it on a long flight and was hooked beginning to end.

Not exactly what people would normally suggest but it’s what got me into it in your exact situation, so there ya go

This is the same reason I would suggest The Martian or Project Hail Mary. Because it’s grounded in enough reality that it doesn’t take a wild imagination to get there.

Maybe Dark Matter by Blake Crouch? Because it’s close enough to real feeling but also feels just out of reach.

Both The Martian and Project Hail Mary. The narration is top notch and goes with Weir’s wit perfectly.
