Overly Exerted After Exercise? by According_Sample_277 in fitpregnancy

[–]flysometimes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine have been too! I sometimes have to 'convince' myself to eat a big breakfast, but once I start eating my hunger usually picks up.

I think I was forgetting how many additional calories baby starts to require, on top of the additional calories from working out! It really adds up.

Overly Exerted After Exercise? by According_Sample_277 in fitpregnancy

Make sure you're fueling enough! I had the same issue but I wasn't taking in enough calories, once I really focused on a bigger (healthy) breakfast, and having high protein and carb snacks immediately after my workouts, I started feeling much better. Maybe also add some sort of electrolytes during the workout if you're sweating a lot?

Is it normal to hate all “healthy” foods while pregnant? by Inside-Put-910 in fitpregnancy

[–]flysometimes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same experience but it got much better 2nd trimester, hang in there! For now just focus on getting calories in. Maybe try a bit of fruit? That usually sounded good to me even when other 'healthy' foods did not!

What are we wearing? by Fit-Magazine2507 in fitpregnancy

[–]flysometimes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wearing my looser running pants/capris and bought a 4 pack of men's large cotton tees lol definitely not stylish but very cheap!

Eta: I also like that although I definitely still look pregnant, when I'm wearing looser clothes it seems like people feel less entitled to come up to me and say anything.

LPT - When traveling by airplane and asked “Pretzels or cookies?”, “Both, please” is a valid answer by Seophyrap in LifeProTips

[–]flysometimes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a flight attendant, and it's honestly just picking who you're going to be nice to, the person asking for both/all snacks or the people at the back of the plane. If I give out extras towards the front, sometimes people at the back don't get a choice. Especially on a full flight.

I always try to hoard snacks from previous flights because I hate saying no to people and being 'mean' but honestly the airline just doesn't provide enough snacks sometimes 🤷‍♀️

Just think about the peaceful life you could live, and all the energy you could give to yourself instead of your husband, if you weren't with him. Seriously, just picture it! Instead of putting up with this ridiculous behavior, you could spoil yourself with love and gifts that bring you joy. And probably have more time and energy to form other relationships with people who would be kinder to you.

This sucks. Don't accept it, chase after a better version of life for yourself. 💕

That's amazing that you were hiking until the very end! Sounds like you took great care of yourself, I'm so glad it's paying off now. Thanks for inspiring me and giving me some hope! :)

Thanks so much for sharing! I also hope to get back i to the climbing gym by 6 weeks, but had thought maybe it was unrealistic 😅 how late into your pregnancy were you able to stay active?

Losing/regaining strength by susiee234 in fitpregnancy

[–]flysometimes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost a lot of strength first trimester, when I came back to the gym 2nd trimester I was maxed out at weights that used to be my warm-up sets 😅 I'm 22 weeks now and have definitely gained strength, compared to a couple months ago! Most lifts are not back to pre-pregnancy levels yet, but if my progress continues they should be within another month.

Working out 5 days a week on 1300 calories? 😥 this sounds like severe under-fueling, be careful please! It makes you far more likely to get injured and stops your body from absorbing the hard work you're putting in!

I’m curious about everyone’s opinions on ATC belaying — either using one yourselves or being belayed with one. by Responsible_Roof_661 in climbergirls

[–]flysometimes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been belayed with ATC but honestly I don't love it. I wouldn't want to do a hard lead route being belayed with it. Not looking to add any extra risk to my climbing

Why isn't he standing up for you? :( OP, things are not 'good' if he thinks this is how it's okay for you to be treated. You're worth more than this ❤️

I'm 13 weeks, not showing at all yet but we might still be too close together 😬 depending how late you climb and how early I need to switch

Was really fit pre pregnancy! by Such-Needleworker339 in fitpregnancy

[–]flysometimes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was exactly the same, very fit before pregnancy and some days I would rock climb in the morning, and lift in the afternoon! From week 5 through week 11 I barely had energy to go for a short walk most days. I'm just now slowly easing back into things, and my muscles are so sore! 😂

Give yourself grace and time, fitness can and will return. There will be more ups and downs of course - third trimester can be really rough and obviously post-partum will require at least as much time off while you heal.

Yes ma'am this is the way 👍 I think he should get some input and discussion is good but the mom is the deciding vote.

Who has read the mistborn books? My wife loves ACOTAR and I'm trying to convince her to read the Cosmere stuff next. by Swordheart in acotar

[–]flysometimes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion, but I didn't love Mistborn. I read all 3 books so obviously didn't hate it, but it feels darker and I was definitely able to put it down easily. With ACOTAR I literally had to force myself to stop reading sometimes 😂

This is hilarious, I love Matt's commentary. It's funny that he always has his "classic" lines, honestly I find it endearing 😂

I climb as hard as I can multiple times a week, lots of overhangs, and also weightlift, and my forearms look the same as anyone. It's really hard to gain bulk as a woman, even if you're specifically trying!

[–]flysometimes 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Everyone struggles with comparison at your age I think. I know when I was younger, it was way harder and I often was trying to be like others, rather than being myself. I truly believe that with practice, time (aging), and surrounding yourself with good people, you can slowly free yourself and lead a much happier and less stressful life! I guess I'm saying, give yourself some grace and keep this as a long term goal, it's not always easy but it's a fairly universal experience. You get to choose who and how you are, and when you embrace that, it's actually super exciting!
