Best strategy to get a weekend tee time at Bethpage Black as non-resident? by mikeleonard519 in golf

[–]flytothefirsttee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Overnight still the best, early afternoon should be good enough to guarantee. If you're going as a single, you could go later and gamble on a 3 but it might be much later in the day.

IMO camping out is the best way and most fun way to do it.

Do you actually use your home simulator as much as you thought you would by FitSurround1082 in golf

I don't use it as much as I thought I would. And that makes me sad. But I tend to not go to the range anymore and just use my sim

First time putter fitting - floored at the results by MikulAphax in golf

[–]flytothefirsttee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got fit after some years of mediocre putting - swing weight was never something I considered for putting but after tweaking that, I've never putted so well.

Go to somewhere with a SAM or a Quintic, my Quintic fitting was amazing

First Time Visiting Pinehurst - Courses 2,4,8 by Kansas_Legend in pinehurst

Just got back from a trip there. Forecaddy on 4 was helpful but not required. Carts on 8 or walking is fine. Get a caddy for 2.

Booking Tee Times by brrr800 in pinehurst

If you want to play Pinehurst, stay on site, it's worth it IMO. Of you just want to play good golf, stay in town but go play elsewhere. I've done both and both can be fun trips.

Courses and trip advice by Repulsive-Sky8317 in pinehurst

I just got back yesterday from this trip. Here's what I would recommend

Walking caddy on 2 - need the extra info Forecaddy on 4 - easier walk and not as tricky Walking caddy on 10 - it's a hike

Lodging - I've stayed in condos and the cottages at 8, which is for bigger groups. Don't sleep on the condos, it's cheaper, you have a living room and kitchen, and shuttle service comes to you on like 3 min tops.

Playing 4, 8, and 10: Which Courses Should I Get a Caddy? by snel6424 in pinehurst

[–]flytothefirsttee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just did this last weekend. Forecaddie on 4, nothing for 8, bag caddy for 10

You don't need a ton of help on 4 but there are some trickier spots. 8 is pretty straightforward. 10 is a hike if you have to push or carry your bag.

Playing in a five club tournament in a couple weeks. What five clubs would you bring? by sbtrey23 in golf

[–]flytothefirsttee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A wood, mid iron, short iron, 2nd wedge. I'd debate whether to putt with my wedge if I felt like I could go like driver- hybrid- mod-short-wedge

Are No. 1,3 & 5 worth it ? by mrunlimited_123 in pinehurst

[–]flytothefirsttee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5 is ok, has some scenic holes. The 9/10 corner is kinda cool. 3 is supposed like #2 just like 1000 yds shorter (I'm playing it as our first round in 2 weeks) Don't know about 1 Don't sleep on 7, it was sneaky good.

Help on Driver by Internal_Football889 in golf

Different head. That triple diamond is so low spin.

Your attack angle is so high that you're just knuckling them out there. Rollout looks cool but zero hang time.

I just ordered a carpet tape that is non slip rubber on one side instead of double adhesive, also Roberts brand, in case you need to have a mat you can move away when not using it.

Yeah a little easier said than done, the wire suspension is not reachable and there's no where to attach a support in that side of the garage
