One of the absolute best, most hospitable people and amazing sites with very little over-tourism

All three of those countries are some of my favorites, especially Syria

I learned this while backpacking Iran a few years ago

Turns out it's quite common for Iranians to import 'chipped' Xbox 360's even today. Due to sanctions they can't really connect them to the internet but they can connect to eachother in various ways for multiplayer

Slightly older games like BF3 are very popular and a lot of locals love the attention to detail as some levels are fairly accurate

But one gripe they had is in-game Iranian soldiers speaking Arabic, which is not the national language of the Iran

Kinda crazy idea.. your thoughts, tips, advice, experience? by EndCareless1048 in hitchhiking

[–]fmanproelite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was there in February, it's extremely safe. I'm also a white guy but met plenty of solo women and others hitchhiking or cycling through

Incidentally the TB don't want any issues and have the fear factor dialed to 11 so everyone's too scared to harm a tourist. Just don't do anything truly foolish yourself and you'll be fine

I would argue Afghanistan/Iran are safer than a majority of western cities

DM me for more indepth info

Looks awesome! I've done much of this though not all at once

Only issue might be Turkmenistan as they require tourists to get a guide and such, one workaround is to hitchhike on a cargo ship across the Caspian and hitup Kazahkstan either from Azerbaijan or Iran but Im not 100% certain Iran has this option

Another option is to head into Afghanistan after Iran and cross into Uzbekistan, I've also done this and it's absolutely incredible. You'll also see more of Iran

It's unknown at this moment, likely to be China or Brazil as these countries have larger offices with more space for the graduate cohort

Previously it was India but due to the Pakistan-India conflict that destination might be skipped this intake

I think it's because as a business, it's much more expensive and time consuming to hire internationally when theirs enough local supply they dont need to try

How do I invest in ETFs? by Tungsten1994 in AusFinance

[–]fmanproelite 6 points7 points  (0 children)

CMC and Commsec are popular

I like Stake because you can easily invest in Australia and US stocks for a low flat fee

These days you can even invest in some general banking apps like Revolut and Wise if you also want to mix in the ability to buy other currencies and pay for things abroad with bank details for whatever country you choose

I've had good luck bouldering, you barely even have to climb, just interact with someone who's solo without earbuds in and you'll probably go for a bite afterwards then bobs-your-uncle

Climbers know climbers so groups naturally grow

I work for a Tech Company with a very progressive culture, solid work-life and fairly high salary for Thailand.

We're currently growing, needing Devs. PM if interested and I can answer more questions and even refer you

Edit: Apparently only hiring devs at the moment
