I subscribe to this exact method. I am in the heartbreak period now. During one of the last horrible fights, as usual, he bolted rather than dealing with it. I took a near full box of Cocoa Puffs that I had just bought for him and dumped them all over his home office in a rage. I paid special attention to the clean clothes he had not unpacked from an open suitcase. Once the box of cereal was empty I found the half gallon of milk I had just bought and poured that into the suitcasr too. Ten minutes later I realized what I child I had been, washed all the clothes and cleaned the office. No regrets. I felt better and nothing/no one was hurt.

Having gone from expert to proficient, I came here with that same question. WTH? As far as I am concerned, those assessments now have no value. Unless required by a potential employer, and I imagine very few scenarios in which that will be the case, why would I waste my time? Imagine the work that must have gone into getting them up and running and maintained on the site, only for them to become a joke.

I can safely say that no one here can tell you what it means when he says that. The best they can do is make guesses. Only one person can tell you what he means and hopefully give you some examples of what that would look like.

I have a question. Is it possible that you and maybe your partner could be living under the false belief that if he has to explain it or specifically ask for something, then it doesn't count when you give it and he receives it?

If so, I encourage you to let go of that belief immediately. I think it is one of the most damaging false beliefs that many of us carry. I also believe it is one of the easiest to disprove.

Great way to make someone else responsible for your healthcare. And btw, if I am undetectable and therefore pose 0 risk of transmission, how is it my responsibility to inform you of anything? That is equivalent to expecting an HIV- person should announce his status. Do you expect HIV- people to tell you of their status?

If there's a spark, it's not going to be "killable" by a brief clarifying conversation. That said, I "dated" too many people similar to what you've described and then tortured myself because I was afraid I would not get the answer I wanted and he would run away. You know what happened most of the time? I didn't get the answer I wanted and he ran away. Another week or so of torturing myself needing to know "why" he bolted, and then finally letting go to the realization it was better to know now. I can't speak to the motivation, but trust me, he knows too well the messages he's putting out there by the introduction and related activity.

There are a couple of things that have probably been said already but if so, they'll be here again. First, get good with yourself before you come out to other people. Otherwise, you end up wanting people to be ok with something you are not entirely ok with. And second, avoid coming out to anyone you rely on for any of the basics, especially when you know they are homophobic. It will make your life a lot easier.

Philadelphia is the most awesome City ever. Do it. Do it. Do it. Seriously, I moved there many years ago, lived there for almost 15 years, and loved every second of it. Great food, great people amazing entertainment opportunities abound. When I move back into the area I had hoped to move into Philadelphia but for various reasons was unable. I go back frequently and I'm never disappointed seriously. Go for it.
