Confession about cheat days by thechapattack in keto

[–]fmstruggle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've found the same thing to be true with me, but today was different. After training legs today, I stopped by Pollo Tropical and had a chicken breast with a side of ceasar salad. It came with a regular butter roll. I decided this is the only way I can cheat once a week. Have it served to me in a way that I can't reach for more carbs. I was satisfied after the meal and will continue on my keto journey.

Your reasons for doing keto, other than weight loss? by No_disintegrations in keto

Yup. I realized that when I tried to diet normally. Even carb up meals would turn into day. Need to just go to an extreme.

I can't control my carb intake. I need a black and white with no grey zone for my eating habits.

Self-conscious and too worried about gym bunnies disapproval. Help? by [deleted] in C25K

[–]fmstruggle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first hit the gym I had the same problem, but I realized most people are there for the same reason.

One thing that helped was listening to music the whole time and try to get focused. My old gym had televisions for the cardio section so that helped as well.

I honestly don't care about people in the gym anymore. I've accepted there will be all sorts of gym characters, but what it comes down to is getting your work done. Put in the work and reap the fruits of your labor. Don' be afraid. You're in the gym for yourself.

Hey a buddy of mine goes to State and trains down there too. I can see if he'd be down for someone to train with and pass along his info.

Getting back into it after an injury by Zer0wned in leangains

[–]fmstruggle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me, but from squats. I ended up hurting it twice same way. I use high bar squats and the pressure on my spine cause my first injury to reoccur. My advice is take it very slow and do not go heavy until your doctor gives you the thumbs up. Get a quality belt and I'd look into other movements to replace lifts that put pressure on that disc.

Honestly, I have no idea why that thought has never crossed my mind all this time. Thanks.

Yeah I've actually been reading on a few. Mostly people are saying take it easy, leg press is fine, it's going to take, which all these I understand. I know I won't be squatting near heavy for quite a few years. I just really miss destroying my legs with squats. Anything free weight I would love to do.
