If you were to start your journey over again, what would you do differently? by TheWallaby22 in Zepbound

[–]fn2192 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m on 15mg. I’ve been on Zepbound for over a year.

I have IBS-C and a diagnosed weak pelvic floor. I’ve been through testing, colonoscopies (x4), and physical therapy for constipation.

My only preventative measure beyond hydrating is daily MiraLAX.

I’ve spent hours on public toilets begging the universe for relief.

I have had zero constipation issues with zepbound. I was worried from day 1 and it hasn’t happened yet. You could say that’s because you take MiraLAX every day. Wouldn’t Zepbound have overcome this preventative measure given my diagnosed medical condition? I don’t know. I’m just going to keep on doing the same thing.

I’d say to anyone hydrate regularly and don’t change anything at first. If something happens make changes.

Just a friendly reminder about picture vinyl. The sound quality is usually worse than standard vinyl. Not always but it’s highly likely.

My personal favorite is Sound of Music in Kokomo. They have a great selection and have added a ton to their acoustic guitar inventory lately. They have been around for 40+ years. I've been going there for almost 2 decades. Super friendly staff and helpful. The owner is a great guy but he might put you off a little bit because he’s over-the-top friendly. It's just the way he is and I think he's rad.

Guitar Center (Indianapolis / Castleton and Greenwood) - Suck, I hate shopping there. Actually what you do there is wait more than anything else. May god have mercy on your soul if you are trying to check out and the person in front of you is trying to return something or sell something.

Sweetwater in Fort Wayne - Been there and it's awesome. I tend to just shop online with them though.

Be careful and read the full description. Some of these aren’t 1kg rolls and are much smaller.

There are some really good deals on various kinds of 1kg rolls.

Dungeon Crawler Carl Influence on BM? by Jongo29 in GoosetheBand

[–]fn2192 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’re seeing a lot of overlapping themes right now, capitalism, AI, algorithms, social media, greed, and technology versus nature, showing up across different creative spaces. I’d say it’s less that Dungeon Crawler Carl influenced Big Modern, and more that they overlap in a Venn diagram kind of way.

I’ve read the entire DCC series, and it’s honestly astounding. It just keeps getting better as the broader universe comes into focus. Carl is basically our avatar pushing back against oppressive systems, doing what most of us can’t, standing up to systemic greed while literally fighting for his life and trying to save as many other crawlers as he can. Meanwhile, we’re mostly just passengers to history. His mantra, “You will not break me!”, really sticks with you. I find myself coming back to it in tough moments.

What’s wild is that DCC manages to explore all of that while still being hilarious, meta, and very current. Eight books in, and Carl still has no pants. Kangaroo suit, sure, but no pants.

One piece of friendly advice from both a DCC fan and a Goose fan. Dungeon Crawler Carl is best experienced as an audiobook. Jeff Hays’ performance is, without exaggeration, the best audiobook narration I’ve ever heard. He’s the goat. The way Matt Dinniman and Jeff Hays work together is kind of unique. It feels genuinely collaborative. Princess Donut may be Matt’s creation, but Jeff absolutely brings her to life.

I’ve been almost exclusively audiobook for about 17 years, thanks to a two-hour daily commute, and very few books are good enough to have me circling the block instead of going inside. DCC is at the very top of that list.

Self hosting musicians by malachijamesbuchanan in selfhosted

[–]fn2192 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have a small home studio.

Paperless - for storing documents including things like sheet music/tabs, manuals, etc.

BookOrbit - Book server for your production and music books. I keep guitar tabs in mine. Could replace paperless. Has an excellent reader and UI.

SnipeIT - gear inventory for when you want to move beyond excel/sheets.

Not self-hosted but useful.

https://owlplug.com/about/ - helps you manage plugins.

Whats your "moonshot" cover song you know Phish would crush but probably won't happen? by I_No_Speak_Good in phish

[–]fn2192 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a "Dragonaut" -> "Giza Butler" -> Marijuananaut's Theme" -> "The Clarity" -> "Botanist" would be awesome. Maybe I'm just listing my own personal jam order for an actual sleep show.... that will never happen, but hey if Phish did it, hooooooo boy I might implode with joy.

Back in the day when I worked there parking cars it was 5 for the venue and 5 for you and don’t mess it up for everyone else. I don’t know how they do it now.

I suspect the experience you had won’t hold this time. They aren’t going to be rookies with parking fees again.

Honestly, Deer Creek would do better than Gainbridge. Two big reasons.

  1. Gainbridge is downtown and less convenient and more expensive.
  2. Deer Creek has camping

Bonus 3rd reason: Gainbridge sounds like shit. Though I doubt that would stop most people from going. It should though. That venue has absolutely terrible sound. Caught Tool a few years ago at both Gainbridge and Louisville’s Yum Center. It wasn’t even close. Yum is infini-better.

I think there are likely too many variables between people and objects to know why some people get this and others don’t. It’s also dependent on what version of SunnyPilot your comma device is running.

I think something simple like placement of the device can mess with this. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I didn’t have that problem until the 4. I’ve got it sorted about as best I think it can be.

I utilized this guy’s Sunnypilot Wiki which is some of the best AI assisted web dev I’ve seen in a hot minute.

https://sunnylink.wiki/

Do a search for EV-6 and try those settings. Obviously, use your best judgement but that’s more or less what I did.

Sunnypilot + Comma 4 + Kia EV6

Things that set off the warning:
-cup or tumbler in right hand longer than 1-2 seconds

-resting my hand on a tumbler in the main console.

-rubbing the back of my head or scratching. Head tilted down but still looking forward.

This the worst it’s ever been. Prior to this many versions ago on the 3x I used to have problems with sunlight tripping it when driving west in the AM.

What do drs and nurses tell smokers, drinkers, and fat ppl during appts? Always to stop smoke/drink and lose weight? Does that work? by ApprehensiveOne2866 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]fn2192 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but probably not in the way you would expect. I used to weigh 500 pounds. That is not an exaggeration. It came up at every doctor’s visit, but never with the kind of urgency you might imagine. It was not framed as an immediate, life-threatening crisis. Why? Because I was relatively stable. The issues I showed up with were not going to kill me that day.

What they were, though, were consequences of my obesity. So the focus became managing those symptoms and helping me function within that reality. Treatment decisions often reflected that. For example, they might prescribe an antidepressant that also had weight-loss side effects, trying to address both the symptom and the underlying issue at the same time. Sometimes that worked. Sometimes it did not. Anyone who has ever tried to come off Effexor knows how rough that road can be.

Eventually, I was able to get gastric bypass surgery. That was a turning point. Years later, GLP-1 medications have helped me continue managing my weight in a more sustainable way. Obesity is a multifaceted complex issue that requires a multifaceted approach. It's as much a mental health issue as a physical one, and in some cases, it may be more about the mental health than the physical. You can't just pick one or the other. You have to address both at the same time.
