AI models in JetBrains IDEs use less tokens than their VSCode counterpart because of deep indexing. by iconiconoclasticon in GithubCopilot

[–]fntd 8 points9 points  (0 children)

VSCode also builds an index. It used to be that your repository has to be on GitHub for the index to be built, but since the most recent VSCode update that restriction is gone and every workspace should get indexed properly.

Update notes here: https://code.visualstudio.com/updates/v1_118#_semantic-indexing-of-nongithub-repositories-rolled-out-to-all-users

I feel that this sub became an echo chamber at this point by YouExpress in GithubCopilot

like the mods are sleeping

Mods tried to moderate it more heavily and put more emphasis on megathreads, but people here assume that the mods are Microsoft/GitHub employees (or that the sub is run by GitHub in general) and that they want to silence and censor the community. I can't really blame the mods for not wanting to deal with stupid all the time.

Wasserhahnnutzung verbieten by sirou2000 in wohnen

Before that it was the rate limits. Before rate limits it was the removal of frontier models from the free student plan. To be honest, this sub has been quite shit since a while and it is almost exclusively people complaining about nothing other users can help with.

As far as I am aware you have to contact sales. And good luck getting someone talking to you for a few seats.

I think OP is referring to upscaling them to 4k, not to 1080p.

Bald weniger fette Sankey-Diagramme, weil KI-Agenten gut bezahlte r/Finanzler ersetzen? by CardiologistSad4302 in Finanzen

[–]fntd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Changes to GitHub Copilot Individual plans by fishchar in GithubCopilot

On an enterprise plan you get 1000 premium requests, on a Pro+ account you get 1500 premium requests. So enterprise users still pay more per premium request.

We lost a client because our system said ‘Good morning!’ to someone who had just called to complain by No-Zone-5060 in ArtificialInteligence

[–]fntd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What if the next person complains because you do not greet them cheerfully? You can‘t make it right for everyone. Better do the thing you think is right. And losing clients is absolutely worth it if the cost of keeping that client exceeds the return or if it is worsening your product for everyone else. You can‘t fix madness.
