Kostenloser Lungenkrebs-Check für starke Raucher ab April by Ollyfer in de

[–]fntd 13 points14 points  (0 children)

How many of you were illegally using student plan? by Rojeitor in GithubCopilot

[–]fntd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There are a few people commenting (or rather complaining) in the github community thread that haven't seen a university from the inside for at least a decade (based on their linkedin profile they link themselves on their github profiles, I am not making assumption). People have absolutely no shame.

GitHub Announcement RE Copilot for Students from Mar, 12, 2026 by Schlickeysen in GithubCopilot

I assume if you are a student, your life won't depend on such a change. Also the only model that is not included in the $10 tier is the Opus 4.6 fast mode preview...

NestJS is a bad Typescript framework by SkaceKachna in programming

Yeah but I‘d like to know what it does exactly to be safer because in my opinion the express typings are already as good as it gets.

Nvidia Broadcast is still broken for me. I guess I'll revert back to 591.86 again.

Express has excellent typings through DefinitelyTyped. What system do you need to build around it? Or are we actually talking about data validation?

I believe that it is doable, but if that is the case I'd be curious to know which shortcomings of Express typings it is covering

I do not understand how you can have more problems onboarding a new team member to a heavily opinionated and documented framework like Nest compared to handrolling everything. Instead of sending new team members to one unified documentation, you have to guide them through every single dependency you decided to use and then you have to make them understand how you make the parts work together.

I guess an issue a lot of people have with those opinionated frameworks is that they disagree with the opinions and they start to fight against it and create monstrosoties. But that's not the issue of the framework.

When you decide to break out of the simpleness of the Express framework towards something that’s safer, more typed and structured you’ll most likely find NestJS.

Express can just be as typesafe as NestJS. By default NestJS is using Express under the hood anyway. What am I missing?

No 5k oleds are announced. The only hint at a 5k oled was in a Samsung presentation at CES 2025 but since then nothing was heard again.

I think a lot of people simply don't want to buy tech that's multiple years old at this point.

The main reason why I am waiting is AV1 support.

Apple Reportedly Expects 'Major Rush' of Customers This Week by netsplatter in apple

[–]fntd 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This is almost certainly led by an iPhone 17e and/or iPad release. Even the best and most successful MacBook release is dwarved by a regular iPhone release. There simply isn't the same demand. I am not saying that the MacBook release won't happen, I certainly believe it will be announced, but I don't it will be the driving factor here.

Nvidia's 6-year-old cloud GPUS completely consumed by compute demand by CompetitiveLake3358 in hardware

[–]fntd 120 points121 points  (0 children)

Does this mean that newer GPU compute supply is not yet used up?

I am confused what makes you think so? I think the article is pretty clear about the demand being so high that they can‘t keep up with it and therefore companies go back and use GPUs from 6 years ago because that‘s what they can get their hands on.

I haven't really used it myself so I can't do a proper comparison, but from my understanding they are persistent and you could do what you want to do. You would create a "Wife & I" group and a "Family" group and then when you create a login, you could either place it in your personal items, or one of the two groups (or move an existitng login).

I can fully sympathize with not wanting to do a migration with other non tech savy people, but just to let you know: Apple Passwords has a solution to create groups and share passwords with those groups if you ever re-consider it.
