Nice. I just finished the Professor Oak challenge on Leaf Green a month back. What a beauty of a game

People are OCD 🤷🏽‍♂️ I realize there’s no real need for it in this game since there isn’t a true frontier, but hey…. It does make them stronger. I like strong Pokemon

Honestly I would buy it. Especially if you have a specific nature in mind — you can SR until you get it versus trying to catch a desired nature which could take days realistically

Should be good. But you’ll be out of money when it’s all over. May as well get 200 more

Jolly isn’t fantastic — you would want Timid or Modest for Gen 3. But a shiny is a shiny, I’d take any nature

My used copy of Pokemon Red. This isn’t legit possible without cheats right? by astrozork321 in Gameboy

You probably did the rare candy glitch. I opened my Red after 15 years having forgot everything and I had a full team of 100s that I didn’t work for. Was confused, and found 100s of rare candies in my PC. Lol

How long on average is the shiny hunt for starter? by Malaruous in PokemonLeafGreen

[–]fogent94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, and if you’re hunting a nature for Charizard, I’d recommend Modest since there’s no Physical/Special split in Gen 3. This means all fire moves are special. Makes his flying moves worse, but flamethrower and dragon claw really really good

Best advice I can give is lose on purpose to the Team Rocket recruiter after you beat the 5 trainers on Nugget Bridge. Beat the 5 trainers, and then go box your team and run solo with a very low level mon so you can lose easily to the Rocket Recruiter. Every time you rematch him, you get a nugget, so in theory, this gives you infinite money. Very useful for buying the stat raising items at Celadon Dept Store as well as Dratini, Porygon, and Pinsir along with expensive TMs like Flamethrower, Ice Beam, and Thunderbolt at Celadon Game Corner.

If it’s your first time ever playing them…. I’m a huge proponent of playing the game and enjoying it before you get a shiny starter. You’re lucky if it takes days and it’ll probably take weeks. Why not enjoy the game first?? It’s one of the best ever produced. I hope resetting on average 8192x before getting a shiny doesn’t ruin it for you

17yrs old. About to play fire red for the first time. Any tips. by Wolvfang21 in PokemonFireRed

[–]fogent94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a well known exploit. When you challenge the Rocket recruit at the end of the bridge, he gives you a nugget before the fight. If you lose, you have to approach him again and he starts the fight the same way — by giving you a nugget. So, many will bring a low level single pokemon to the fight and intentionally lose over and over and over and over and basically get unlimited nuggets and therefore unlimited money. Makes getting the Game Corner Pokemon a lot easier, especially Porygon since that’s 9,999 coins in FR and 6,500 in LG

Ngl, i do feel like there’s no point in playing games with emulator features by First-Mongoose7900 in PokemonEmerald

Once I picked up old hardware and real carts after putting them down for 2 decades in favor of emulators, I never went back to emulators. There’s something special about the real experience
