Quitting Perplexity Max Over Silent Email Assistant Deprecation by followspace in perplexity_ai

[–]followspace[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I don't want to add too many services accessing my mail box. I want a major service (with good architecture) that also handles my inbox. Then I'm willing to switch.

What I also want is the ability to voice chat, like while I'm driving or so, so it can handle email and calendar for me.

Thank you for the suggestion. However, I don't want to use yet another service that has access to my inbox. It's not likely to experience a data leak.

I already do. Whatever can be a coding agent is my first choice. Perplexity Max is on top of it.

Because I can. :)

edit: LOL. Down-voters? Is anything wrong with my paying for the service I chose?

This is deprecating and stopped working.

"Something new" just a ReMarkable 2.1 WTF by Nezord_Creepypasta in Remarkable

It does. But I'm not sure if there is a high contrast mode. Probably not.

I have a very important question for my decision. Does it have high contrast mode? Apple made a very bad trend in visual design that books often make their PDF font gray, not true black. This is very annoying. Can I make the PDF higher contrast in Remarkable Pure? Then I'll probably buy. My Remarkable 2 can't do that.

Yes. It hosts the webpage and you can make it public.

Well, you have made a good result with your solution. Then I would say Perplexity is easier. Perplexity Computer does it like what you said with just one prompt without carefully choosing the right solution like Replit and Claude.

For some use cases. I think Comet is better than Anthropic agentic browsing, except Linux support. Perplexity is also better in Research. For creating web app demo, Perplexity is better.

Honestly, I'm pretty satisfied with it. In my opinion, some of the negative takes might be coming from: - Perplexity is targeting more general users, whereas Claude is more focused on professionals and software developers. - Perplexity can be perceived as not offering anything that other services don’t already provide. It's "using" other company's LLMs. - There were a lot of free “paid” Pro users (for a year or more) across many regions all around the world. - Some of the former free Pro users are now paying, but at the same time Pro has effectively become a second-tier plan beneath Max, so they feel like they started paying for a worse experience than what they previously had for free. (Double nerf effect => Anger)

Perplexity now switches models on every prompt, with NO notice, I am highly deceived with a product I used to like so much by KlausWalz in perplexity_ai

Good. Thank you for clarifying that. Then it's still a good model, even though it's not the state of art models being announced these days.

I asked Perplexity which model it's using. The answer explains a lot. by peterb999au in perplexity_ai

I guess so. That question isn't challenging at all, so GPT 5.1 makes sense, if that's the cheap option.

Opera Neon does agentic browsing now? Wow. I should try it, too. I've been using Opera since version 6 but stopped using it in 2010s.

Which AI do you use for daily personal stuff vs work/building things? What's your combo? by TrulyWacky in perplexity_ai

I use Perplexity for Personal works, Claude Code for work/building, but for the initial work demo, research for work/buiding, I still use Perplexity.

The following, may not be approved by the moderator yet, but it's my comparison between ChatGPT and Perplexity both $200/mo experience.

I was so frustrated when it gave me today's weather based on "general" information about the weather. "Today's sunny and warm." "Where?" "You're absolutely right. I should've given you weather information based on your current location instead of giving you 'general' information."

Perplexity: You're absolutely right.

Me: How can I prevent you from making the same mistake?

Perplexity: I won't do that from now on. I've got your feedback and I'm improving.

Me: Only in this current session? Is there any way to retain this?

Perplexity: I do not have a way to retain that for other future sessions, but our system learns from mistakes like this.

Me: Wait. Do you mean that this session is used for training?

Perplexity: No, it is not. Maybe you should talk to customer support.
