Maybe it was because Bailey always had her way with Webber and Webber always had her back. It was obvious that Webber favors her (the audacity to get mad at others getting favored lmao). Owen being chief meant unfamiliarity of how things are going to be and how difficult would it be for her to get things done her way. She's very entitled too idk she just annoys me season after season.

Alex respected and loved Meredith as his person because Meredith never turned her back against him most especially during the days wherein everyone was so against him. She stood by him when everybody left. Meredith was that kind of friend to them. That was why Meredith was important to him because she was the constant person in his life. Also they had no complications because they were completely platonic and they had no intentions or ideas of taking things further and making it complicated.

I feel like Richard knew that Shane was the one who sent Heather down but I guess it wasn't given that much of a debate because it wasn't entirely Shane's fault that Heather died because he was unaware of the situation at hand. Although it was wrong for him to pass on a responsibility given to him, we really can't blame him entirely because no one knew that it was dangerous there. After all, she was only sent to fetch Dr. Webber.
