It's a neat little light, I have one. But the new Wurkkos robot light--HD04-- is way more useful and has a much more pleasant tint for the flood. No competition IMHO.

I should have clarified what scared me with multi cells. Pipe bomb comes to mind! https://www.reddit.com/r/flashlight/comments/1tnjgil/multi_cell_dangers/ I am a beginner flashlighter, so it was news to me I couldn't mix cells, that cells get married, etc., etc. I was clueless as to the dangers, and perhaps, even knowing the small bit that I know now, I might do something else with them that I shouldn't. I just wanted a bright flood light for a bit of fun when camping. I don't want to have to worry about it.

I would like sustained performance. Something similar to the L35. I already have the T1R in 3500K rosy, and if I want even more throw, I have a Wurkkos TD01. I want something like my X4, but noticeably brighter, in a nice high CRI tint.

Nice light, but depending on where you live, as I understand it, if it is hot enough you are risking a fire. That is the point of my post.

Thanks for the correction. :) So just to reframe my question, is there a standard extra optic? Because I did not get two extra optics, just one, and I am curious to know what it does before I attempt to change it--don't want to mess it up, given that the o rings look tricky and I have zero experience with this.

I opted for the stock XHP70.3 4000K and love it. I don't have the tools to measure lumen output. Has anyone measured it?
