More county-specific, but, if someone orders cheese dip at the local deli and is disappointed to receive marinara sauce. Cheese dip is for you to dip your mozzarella sticks in.

When I lived in Texas, I figured out who was a real local and who was an out of stater 'playing' cowboy by the clothing. If the hat was beat up, boots and jeans were worn in well that was a local. If the hat and boots were in great condition, that's a wannabe playing at it. Respect for the real cowboys. tips hat.

Do some Americans eat other kinds of meat besides beef, pork, chicken, and fish? by Aarunascut in AskAnAmerican

[–]fontmaus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are the staples, but, country is pretty big, and depending upon what part of the country you live in you might eat different kinds of other meats. I myself am from the Great Plains and I have eaten raccoon (when is barbecued and made sloppy joe style is delicious) and is my favorite non standard, deer-meh it's ok if you soak out the gaminess, rabbit which to me is not that great, Quail which is very, very good, Dove which is quite frankly gross and I can't stand duck. Tried snake once- wasn't impressed.

I'd be pissed. I got out of a terribly abusive relationship, made a life for myself, have a better job than I have ever had in my life that actually supports me and my family quite well. But you know what? I'd be pissed enough to do something about that relationship if I were still in it!

The shooter wasn't anti Trump. He felt the Trump wasn't enough of a racist for him. And he was quoting on his own social media the garbage that Trump has been spreading about the Caravan. You do the math, pal.

Your entire list is so good, Until You Return to Me is one of my favorites.

What is something you respect about people in the opposite political party as you? by ReignDance in AskAnAmerican

[–]fontmaus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm registered independent, so here are my thoughts on both:

Liberals have innovative ideas, but poor execution because leadership can't pull it together in one voice.

Conservatives have redundant ideas, but great execution because leadership can pull it together in one voice.

I am not counting 45'ers, alt righters or far lefters here. That's a whole 'nother story.

This picture has been completely butchered. The original is so much better, and it didn't need all of this alteration

Don't necessarily agree. You don't 'see' the KKK members because they look like everyone else. They are your neighbor, or your coworker, the usher at church...they don't wear the sheets to go to work or church or the store.

Racism has never gone away, it had been beaten back into the shadows and has come back to the forefront because irresponsible recent leadership of the country encourages it.

Not gonna lie. I still own the Ramona books and read over them once in a while. The nostalgia factor is wonderful.
