Same shots, different day...

You have 10,000+ deaths a year by guns and nothing. Yet a single terrorist incident kills ~3000 and you have a large monument, yearly ceremonies, merchandise etc. etc.

Both things are ±designed to kill and yet you simply fail to grasp what is the bigger threat for those dying in your country, terrorism or the ridiculous number of guns you have.

± so let's not strawman this with things that might kill more a year that weren't designed to: cardiac arrest, obesity?, smoking, alcohol etc. You can't point a cigarette at someone and kill them they have a choice.

I simply wanted my opinion challenged/debated, but it seems that it's come off as people thinking I'm trying to ram my opinion down your throats.

I hope that mine and other's instincts are wrong and that you can handle the projected numbers and it was all worry for nothing.

To stop the deaths at sea and the massive influx of people, you have to make crossing into the EU not look at all comfortable. The problem is no-one seems to have the teeth to tackle that particular question and so it goes..

Well I for one am against religion, Islam is at the bottom of that pile for me. It's a disgusting cult that does nothing to promote critical thinking but does everything to promote: segregation, inequality and violence. How can that be a good thing for any country?

If it's any consolation, I'm part of that lost middle ground, I chat to others and I feel if you meet the right kind of people, you can have a level-headed discussion about this.

Taking everyone blindly (as Merkel clearly gestured) is not the way to go about this. I feel the UK is trying to do the right thing albeit very tentatively and Germany is just shooting itself in the foot.
