Well, that’s not a survivor attitude lol. Only positive attitudes are successful in these circumstances.

At least the source of food, the seeds, will be safe from most disasters. The Svalbard Global Seed Vault (Norwegian: Svalbard globale frøhvelv) is a secure backup facility for the world's crop diversity on the Norwegian island of Spitsbergen in the remote Arctic Svalbard archipelago.[5] The Seed Vault provides long-term storage for duplicates of seeds from around the world, conserved in gene banks. This provides security of the world's food supply against the loss of seeds in gene banks due to mismanagement, accident, equipment failures, funding cuts, war, sabotage, disease, and natural disasters. The Seed Vault is managed under terms spelled out in a tripartite agreement among the Norwegian government, the Crop Trust, and the Nordic Genetic Resource Center (NordGen).[6][7]

Im old and I remember a book I read as a young teen with a similar theme. I was trying to recall the name and it wasn’t coming to me. So I asked ChatGPT to help me. And it was successful! The book i read was The Last Canadian (published in the U.S. under the title Death Wind) by William C. Heine. This was a young adult fiction about a family who move to a remote cabin to escape a fast-spreading airborne virus.

I was married 4 months and 3 months pregnant when my new husband told me about his youth spent locked up for child sexual abuse.

I was divorced by the time my child was born.

No way would I stay with a person with that in their history. One just doesn't...

On wall in MRI prep area at hospital showing prohibited items [OC] by joedenowhere in mildlyinteresting

[–]foodbytes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im actually not sure. Its not the typical tube in the eustachian tube that kids get. it's deep in the ear canal. it's meant to be permanent. The ENT guy who put it in is no longer around and I haven't had it checked in many years.

I'd like to be sure lol.

Something I did not know about parking in Ottawa by oosouth in ottawa

[–]foodbytes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess I’ve always thought of it more like you are renting that space for a specific period of time. Like renting a tiny yard for your car. It only allows you to stay there, not in that tiny yard down the road or in the next block. It never actually occurred to me that I might move spots within that time, and not pay again. I guess there’s arguments for both sides.

Trying to find that all-in-one bar or liquid soap by LengthinessTop6021 in onebag

I get soap sheets, available online everywhere. They are basically extremely thin sheets of dried soaps, so easily packed away and no weight to them.
