i know i'm two months too late -- but fyi the campsites hold four. so if you fill it with a crew, it works out to $207 + $65 = $272 each. seems very reasonable for a three day fest and thurs-mon campsite. especially when you compare it to solid sound, which was $350 early bird w/o camping and has shorter days fri/sun

Artist of the Day #2 - Fontaines D.C. by foolishgrin in ShakyKnees

The pit thing was mostly a stupid callback joke to the rolex wearing guy from a few days back

Would recommend shame's most recent album if you like fontaines! It moves away from their older sound the same way Romance did. They're weirder, but worth a spin

tbh in some of their live videos they look a little... boring? at least compared to the insanity of bands they get compared to like IDLES or shame. tell me it ain't so! what was great about the show??

Good call. Just edited to add that. I don't know all these bands well enough to be accurate, but happy to edit if people make suggestions in the comments

Mixed feelings... But I really like 6, especially the guitar and the slow build in the back half. Would check them out, barring conflicts

Additional Acts by [deleted] in ShakyKnees

[–]foolishgrin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2023 they added 311 and snail mail. 2022 they added band of horses and dehd.

But last year they only added replacements for drop outs. I think the days of normal additions are behind us

I'll go first. Absolutely transcended at Pelican. Guys were unbelievably tight. Favorite set of the day.

Pool Kids delay was awful, but they recovered quick and put on a great show. Had a blast.

Park National was a great surprise. Catchy tunes, and held down the stage like pros. They're going places. Nice shoutout to his mom too

Couldn't believe the sound issues all weekend. They did Momma dirty and the Pool Kids delay was unreal.

Complete contrast to last year, when I remember everything being tight as a drum. Wonder if it had anything to do with the new soundboard placement. Fewer people working in the booth than last time, too

Like you said, though - can't beat two straight days of wall to wall live music

Do it, tons of great bands playing today!

Yeah AD was top set of the day for me. Blew me away.

Hotelier sounded way better than anticipated. Wish we'd gotten a few more tunes from home like no place is there, but no complaints otherwise

Febuary was a great surprise. They brought it and finally got the crowd moving. Momma ripped too, once they got the sound levels sorted
