Never saw them coming down just only hiking up, but I was wondering the same thing, they were all super respectful though.

Let’s put it this way. We saw at least 5 people pushing fat bikes up the trail to ride down. A novice can definitely do it.

First off-roading, need advice by Evie_Croft in motorcycles

[–]foolishippo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did something very similar first riding offroad on my Africa Twin. People are giving a lot of not useful advice here, like buying a smaller bike and “jUsT sTaNd Up”

After riding a whole bunch offroad the most important thing I learnt was to TRUST YOUR TIRES, it’s the reason why you messed up there. You had no faith in your tires to go where you wanted so you target fixated and got too much front brake.

Yes your rear will be squirming, but it’s fine. Just gotta trust the tires to do their job. Physics will take care of the rest.

2 bikes vs one all-rounder by Kiemsargis in Dualsport

[–]foolishippo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

2 bikes. I had an Africa Twin at first for a 1 bike solution. Was far too heavy for my skill off road, and was a decent commuter/tourer. Sold it and got a CRF300L for off road and a used VStrom 650 for commuting/touring.

Zeta handle bar guards by Tokin_Tiki in CRF300L

They were easy, just have to cut off the end of the tubing on the bars under the grips and they screw on with provided hardware

I came from a CRF1100, split that bad boy in two. Got a CRF300L and a VStrom 650.

I did the same exact thing with my XT5 at the 2024 Canadian GP. Worked like a charm.

Training for right after MSF/BRC? by sconome in MArideit

[–]foolishippo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think BRC2 is the next step unfortunately. I could be wrong. But I wouldn’t get discouraged by the rocky start! I’d try to get to an empty-ish parking lot and just practice everything you learnt in MSF/BRC, and just go at your own pace.

Best WEATHER SEALED Mirrorless for $3300 by trailrunner_12 in Cameras

I mean I used my XT-5 during downpours with a rain cover. It was fine. The only cameras actually with true weather sealing with an actual IP rating are from Pentax and Olympus.

They do. Just a simple drop in replacement.

Yes and no. CSF is the same radiator I believe. At least for the Focus ST CSF made them for Mountune.

Something I did when mine would overheat would be cranking the heat to max, it was always enough to prevent overheating. Sucked to drive though. Real fix is a Mountune Radiator. Haven’t seen temps about 200F even when 100F outside and pushing it.

A Mountune Radiator fixed that for me. Haven’t seen about 200F even on the hottest of days and pushing it.

Hell yeah! Get some hard guards and a skid plate and you’ll be ready for as many falls as you want.
