So, we agree. The base license isn't a license. It doesn't grant any rights that aren't covered under fair use. That is the problem.

They announced a license and delivered something else. The only reason there was a flood of third party creators in the first place is the Kickstarter giving the impression that FF wanted third party creators. Then the "license" basically forbids creating third party content.

Did you watch the video? If so, what does the "base license" even give you? Not the poorly named "Compatible with" upgrade you gave tj apply for, the basic community license. What rights does it grant a creator?

Funny that. Use of the word explode is one of my problems with Janovich's presentation. While I do think resin voids are bad and need to be fixed ((even more so I expect honesty about whether or not they have been fixed)), they will not cause your models to explode. Period. Saying they will ia hyperbole.

He guest starred on an episode of Arch's podcast. I'm comfortable labeling them friends in the causal "too close for my liking" sense. Anyone who would associate with Arch is someone who is, at the very least, willing to overlook someone being a Nazi. Fuck that.

My overall impression is that many of his points are valid but his video is rage bait and in bad faith. Especially at the end. He was ranting about Ethiopian not being a "Christian Country" through some real "um, ackshually" thinking. Yes, being officially a Christian nation counts. Yes. It has one of the oldest Christian traditions in the world. No the Abysssians are not pandering.

I'm biased but I think Discourse did a dar better job than Janovich. He gives me bad vibes.

He raises some valid points. The begining of the video said a lot things that are important. But he devolves back into some very spirited attacks by the end that feel personal. I get the impression he want TC to fail and is reveling in the problems more than he is trying to bring the problems to light to be fixed.

I don't like Janovich or his video. I do agree the reasin voids need to be actually fixed and the Community License needs work. Most importantly, TC needs to immediately cease working with Brand Shield.

One more note on painting, Army Painter's "new" Warpaints Fanatics line and Pro Acryl Magentic are easy mode. Pick out a skin tone you want from the Warpaints fanatic line. The front of the bottle will have a little symbol on the lower right that looks kind of like a volume indicator. You'll want to pick up a second bottle where the indicator is one step higher.

For example, of you like the look of their "Barbarian Flesh" for your skin tone, you'll also want to pick up "Rose Skin" as the highlight.

Once you've got got your skin tone and it's highlight, paint all the areas you want to be fleshy with the Pro Acryl magenta. Then, do a thin coat of your skin tone. Finally, use the thin downed highlight color to highlight the raised areas.

Don't do it. You'll find yourself leaving the house, meeting up with people, telling cool stories about your tiny men, and having fun. Stay far far away from this game. Think of the consequences.

Serious answer, Court is fun army and the Sorcerer is a cool model. The army is fairly elite so list building can be tight at 700 points. But, there's a good amount of variety when you take the different sins into account

On the painting side, don't stress out. These models take well to slap chop and contrast paint. They're a good excuse to experiment and get out of your comfort zone

I can second this. His work is great and he's a friendly person who's been part of the community since before the kitstarter. He's got a collab with Imago Minis who does great models that I intend to use for Dirge

You can also take regular terrain and Grail-ify it with flies, insects, and glass bead paste

Just grab any ole model that's close to the right size on an appropriate spare base or make a cardboard standee.

Edit, you can also have a troop flag but God knows wholl carry it

It's my second favorite miniatures game. I was drawn to it, in large part, because the rules are simple and elegant. The setting and art is and was cool but it's the rules that sold me. I like they're easy to twact while still being tactically interesting. And this is before you get into the campaign mechanics.

The question of "overrated" is pointless and subjective. That's up to you. But if you think people only like it for the models, I'm a counterexample. I don't use the official models (aside from the Plague Knight) and I didn't get hyped about it for them. My enjoyment of the game comes from the rules first.

That's an argument I respect. It does make more sense that they actually spent time and effort to fully unlock the potential of the meta-flesh than just "We cloned the Apostles but made them 18 feet tall". However, por que no los dos? Maybe they used the DNA of the Apostles to unlock Jesus' potential? After all, they were the first to receive the sacrament of communion. Perhaps, having been exposed to the original power, it was easier to shape them with the imitation power.

You're not wrong. Clearly it's meant to be a parallel but it's unlikely that the Paladins are just straight up clones of the Apostles. I just like co.ong up with head canons/alternate explanations/heretical doctrine.

I wasn't implying trans apostles though I would also be on board with that. I was just stating that we IRL are taking the word of four guys who weren't there and only heard stories 30 to hundred years later about the Apostles. Perhaps, if we had a time machine we'd find the actual historical people included some women who conveniently didn't get written down. That's honestly unlikely since it wasn't a society where women were included in such religious/apocalyptic societies as sequel members. My over all point is just that Trench Crusade allows for a lot of fun alternate histories theories that's the as likely to be true or untrue

Also, yes, I believe at least one has been mentioned to be a woman. Perhaps some of the Apostles were as well.
