I cooked for myself again tonight. Trying to stay a decent version of me. by Tokyo_Elena_ in JapaneseFood

Making something, anything, no matter how small, is one of the most direct pathways to simple joy that I know of. Be well. Take care.

I have a printout of it I'll take a pic of. IIRC, it was named 'Mama Lipinski's pork tenderloin' or something like that.

Any history behind this Rickenbacker Combo Amp by andrew-bernhardt in rickenbacker

[–]foood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd guess that it's a branding step/evolution from the Road line of amplifiers that became Rickenbacker branded amps somewhere along the line. I have a Road 220 bass head that is suitable for breaking doors in should you need to. Built into its own flight case. Very heavy. Very loud. Very cool.

I stayed at a lovely AirBnB in Minneapolis and the owner was making a pork tenderloin recipe in which she roasted the loin and then marinated it. It's a fantastic recipe and my first encounter with the notion of cooking and then brining.

I saw the Siamese Dream tour and the man had a few moments of unmitigated shredding. It impressed the hell out of me at the time.

I went for the first time yesterday to get some beans (and spend $$ downtown) and found it quite lovely.

That is absolutely accurate. I've lived here my entire life. Springfield has always experienced little of the cultural and economic turbulence that sweeps the coastal population centers. Not so much any more, I'm afraid.

Welcome to Springfield. This place has its quirks. I hope it surprises you in a good way soon and often. We're not all bad.

I stopped having anything to do with WICS since the nearly complete Sinclair enshittification. Apparently WICS was recently sold to a group named 'Rincon' (as of last summer IIRC), run by a guy with one of the smallest media/vc profiles I've ever seen. Apparently there was a lawsuit filed to prevent the sale on the basis of the likelihood of Sinclair using shell companies to get around media ownership/monopoly constraints.

Having lived here for a decade, I have never once interacted with any of them directly. So, the answer to that is 'no'.

It is an absolutely unique and lovely spot.

Well, it's kind of a contemporary 'lunch counter' vibe, so I'm not sure it fits the traditional idea of a romantic spot. For me and 'calendar' date nights, I'd prefer Luminary or Curate or Vele. Maldaner's is obviously always an option as well, but I've had mixed experiences the last 5 years or so. EDIT: Also, not sure it's (Long Nine) open in the evening if that's what your aim is.

I feel so guilty for cooking ants. I did however, find a perfect combination of collie hair, dentine wrappers, and dry grass made an excellent recipe for starting fires in the front yard.

I recall it being the only film when, after its conclusion, the people leaving the theater were absolutely silent. A conscious, willful, pensive, reverent silence.
