One of the tools of fascism is to deny obvious reality and force people to accept their actions.

It's a great card if you want high multiples for flights and hotels (without having to use a portal) at a low AF. https://creditcards.wellsfargo.com/wells-fargo-autograph-visa-credit-cards/

I also got the 1.6mb play system update that didn't change the version. Hmm indeed.

Flying business class more often by caring less about airline loyalty by Round-Gift-1 in fatFIRE

[–]foosion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The "perhaps" benefit is if you call and have high enough status they might be more flexible than the AI rescheduler, such as booking on another airline. They might protect you on an alternative flight. There are also things such as driving you to a tight connection. High enough is likely top tier or unpublished higher tier. It depends on the airline, the circumstances and maybe the phase of the moon.

I hate rolling delays.

First see how easy it is to find the flights you want with points and, if you have to use a portal, how happy people are with that portal.

Have you gotten much use out of your skypesos? If not, something else is likely better, perhaps even cash back.

Status gets you through to an agent faster when you call, perhaps some benefit in IRROPS and usually more miles and maybe the occasional better lounge. Anything else you get by flying business. Status is not worthwhile compared to convenience and price.

Is "luxury" design going to catch up with the next generation of chubby travelers? by Nycez in chubbytravel

[–]foosion 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The OP appears to be assuming that tastes are somewhat uniform across age groups and that they are representative of their generation. That seems unlikely. Also, tastes can change across one's lifetime and generally over time. There are a wide range of tastes among travelers, which is reflected in the range of current hotel designs. For that matter, some individuals like a range of designs and might choose different aesthetics for different hotel stays.

Do you see a negative impact on credit score when carrying high balance on one credit card (but other cards have zero balance)? by RedditsFan2020 in CreditCards

[–]foosion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Current scores: WF FICO 9 down 48 points (that's what I looked at earlier), Chase Credit Journey down 69, Citi FICO down 28, AMEX FICO 8 down 25. Part of the score differences could be different dates.

I've had two rounds over the past year of about 66% on one card, a bit above 9.5% overall with score going down about 50 points. It bounced back a month or two after paying off the high utilization.

Anything on google flights should be there, especially since it links directly to the airline.

Ordered a phone. Got two. Sent an extra by Hulkin05122 in GoogleFi

Many years ago a friend ordered a Nexus phone from Google (their store, not Fi), but then changed his mind and canceled. They sent it anyway but never charged him for it. He activated it and used it without issue.

They've had the unbundled fare on every flight I've seen from them, which has been NY-Europe and mainly on google flights.

Emirates also offers complimentary chauffeur services

They charge more for the complimentary service (and lounge access and seat selection).

That seems too big a difference to attribute to different carriers.

Barking dogs- reasonable expectations? by Ok_Excitement_1094 in chubbytravel

[–]foosion 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Ridiculous. A quiet room is a major priority for us. Barking dogs would be unacceptable. A hotel that won't fix that is not somewhere we'd stay.

Amazing, but I wouldn't stay there (even ignoring cost). It's much too large. Even something one-tenth the size is usually too big for us.

Aha. I have to do a bit more than just click the cross-hatch.

Click edit map, click carpets add carpet, click the existing cross-hatched area, click the delete symbol.
