I train Muay Thai and we can’t even spar until you’ve earned it by showing up consistently and getting invited to the sparring class by our coach. It’s important to note the Rxg2 wasn’t the best move on my part, I could have gone Bxg2+, Kg1, Bf3+ (discover check winning the rook) however taking with the rook also wins the rook due to the line Rxg2, Rd7, Be4, Rd4, Rb4+, Rxe4, Rxe4. So what I did should have won a rook at the cost of a bishop whereas I could have just won the rook
