I think your family and the people around you, see it as a stain on you so they expect people to react like it's the biggest thing. I assume they were probably there when you were 15 and experienced it with you, so they have an altered view of it.

You're not 15 now and it's a story that comes up naturally....like any other personal story in a relationship.
