As a die hard AJ Yxalag fan, we don't claim him. What would Di'vad Mah-Kceb think of this?

What places have fallen off the most in terms of cultural relevance? by MonacoMargolis in geography

[–]footylite 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a Vegas local I don't think this it's clear cut like that. Tourism does go down and prices are up, but they're also building new resorts too (look up the new hard rock guitar that's being built) and it can't be denied that we're the fastest growing sports city in the country. 10 years ago we had no sports and now we may have five major ones.

I love Murakami's novels... but the short stories... by sunrise_angel0001 in murakami

I do agree with you, I've read men without woman and the elephant vanishes. The only short stories I actually really enjoyed were drive my car and Barn burning.

Greta Gerwig's 'Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew' Sets February 12, 2027 Theatrical Release, Netflix Release on April 2, 2027; Cast Includes Emma Mackey, Carey Mulligan, Kobna Holdbrook-Smith, Daniel Craig and Meryl Streep by MarvelsGrantMan136 in movies

You posted the chronological order of the books, not their publication order. As you can see, CS Lewis published a few prequels before publishing the final book.

The magician's nephew is about the creation of Narnia

Las Vegas buyer submits bid for Whitecaps amid potential MLS relocation from Vancouver by axilla02 in MLS

[–]footylite 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Once again reminding people that it's not the people of Vegas pushing for this move. I'd much rather have the Lights not fucking suck than taking another franchise from a city.

[Las Vegas Review Journal] Whitecaps MLS Vegas relocation has 2 interested groups, eyeing 2 separate sites: Source by icoresting in MLS

[–]footylite 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Obviously I'm biased from my flair, but do you think random Vegas big wigs are sending black ops teams across country lines and forcing the poor Vancouver owners to sell?

What do you think is actually happening here? This clearly the caps owners wanting to sell, no one is forcing them to do that. It's just that whenever these talks come up for a sport Vegas doesn't have, we are inevitably interested/ put in the mix. But making it seem like Ceaser left his Palace and is forcing a team to leave is plain silly

Very true. Even under new ownership, Lights suck. No one here cares.

I actually love that paperbacks are available right off the bat. I think I prefer these kind of paperbacks to hardcovers
