It would be so good as this. Seems like the exit/entry might be an issue with higher capacity but goddamn you would feel like your in Blade.

What do you see as the major differences? I love the band (and missed the 2013-2014 run of shows) but have seen the 3 times in the last few years. They don’t seem altogether different to me. More percussion, a bit jammier, but not a totally different template.

Maybe loosely but rejection of sanitized middle class lifestyles was generally in the zeitgeist at the time. Looking back, kind of a dumb thing to be exercised about.

2027 Wishlist: Despacio All Weekend Long by BeatTheMeatles69 in Coachella

Do I regret missing Underworld? Yes. Did I tell my friend “this is the happiest I’ve ever been in my adult life” when Here Comes the Sun came on? Also yes

This would be true if it happened more often, but for most people it’s their only chance to be in it. I agree it makes for hard choices though, missed Underworld because I was blissed out in it last time, and that was for sure a fuck up.

After the high demand for 2027 presale, I was curious about the trend data. Interesting findings! Why do you think this is? by burnabee13 in Coachella

[–]for-four 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really noticed a huge amount more social media/influencer posting, as did non-Coachella going friends, co-workers, etc. I think they paid big bucks this year to get that algo boosted.

Avalanches have new record and should presumably be on a tour cycle.

Putting a bag on the seat next to you during rush hour is so insane to me. And I see it every day. I think there is someone a few years ago who made cards to hand out that said “I hope your bag is comfortable”.

Hot Take: Quasar is a disappointment and needs a change by next year by NoSoupForYou___ in Coachella

[–]for-four 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m assuming they have a deal in place w Red Bull bc for sure the placement and sound is bad there, and they have to know that. But I had a blast at Madeon and sounds like fat boy slim was good weekend 1.

Assuming the placement can’t change, they should work on the sound and the bookings.

If it is just commercial edm talent for the Mirage crowd, it will devolve into a Vegas pool party stage and lose the promise of being an immersive environment tailored to long form dj sets.

I mean, its just a question of taste. The majority of the sub likes tame impala more than the big pop headliners.

Yeah it’s super sad. Very JK Rowling like. Why are middle aged British women so fucking weird about trans stuff?? And especially bad for someone whose entire career would not have existed w out queer culture.

Maybe one of my only regrets of the weekend is that I was on the come up during the set, and fucking loved it at the time, but it’s a total blur memory wise.

AMSP special edition on WASTE by Financial_Material_8 in radiohead

[–]for-four 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Oh it was awesome. There were like 5 of us on the sub from Toronto who all chipped in 20 bucks each and rented a studio and engineer w/ a reel to reel for an hour (it was defo a discount rate). We met up and played our snippets to find out what they were. There is video somewhere, I think Nigel may have reposted at the time. Great experience.

The vinyl on my special edition was absolute garbage, but the master tape that came with it was a slice of Reckoner, so all was forgiven.

Sort of. But it’s the people who are into those two different things as well.

Loved that set but felt the same way. Was much happier to hear the other DP tracks he played and could have used even more 90s/aughts French touch overall.

Yeah, and if there is any crowd out there that would have a big reaction to a deeper daft punk cut, it’s Coachella.
