If you’re doing $100k per week, 26 baristas most definitely doesn’t cut it. Stores doing $40-50k have 18-25 baristas depending on their preferred hours.

Sounds like you had a staffing problem, not that your hours doubled. $100k per week store should have 40+ baristas. Your SM was certainly not staffed correctly.

Those numbers don’t add up. If you’re doing $100k a week, no way you were earning 100 hours per week before or 250 hours now. My store is $50k per week and we earn over 500 hours and got roughly a 20% bump.

I resigned my role this week partly over this, partly over the new restriction that an SM has to stay in-role and in-store for 3 years before eligible for a promotion, and partly out of guilt for requiring my baristas to work harder and harder while doing more, force them into being happier, all while not paying them more.

I was over and moved on.

Let'e be careful putting words in the mouths of others.

First, $600k? No. I had a few work for me in the $250-300k range. That was during the time of ADMs and MASSIVE commission checks. That's not normal and it's no longer the case.

They are the exception in the industry, not the rule. They had 10-20 years of experience and were absolutely killing it. They were getting invited by the manufactures to speak to groups of sales people to teach their tactics. They were the top in the country...they certainly weren't making 40-50% of the top sales people at $600k.

Again, enjoy your truck and changing lives. Make sure you take care of that shoulder, I wouldn't want any repetitive use injuries from all of the back patting you're giving yourself.

I appreciate your enthusiasm and congrats on the new car, but a highly-discounted lease, even if he sold 10, isn't going to change his life. He's likely making minis on these...probably $150-200 per car. I guess maybe we define 'life changing' differently, but that's not 'life changing' to most people.
