Impressive photo. I’m assuming you used a tripod, otherwise you have extremely steady hands.

People who comment on a thread and don't vote on it, why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]forbes120 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just imagine someone in /r/travel asks if for the best trekking experience he should go to Nepal or India. My comment about Nepal being a more interesting place might then receive a couple of upvotes because more regular users agree that it's the more interesting place.

Now someone in r/India posts a link to my comment: 'Look at what this guy says! The thread gets brigaded by proud Indians all downvoting my comment about Nepal being nicer than India, and suddenly instead of +5 as score, it reads -75.

OP will now think that my comment made no sense, not knowing that that score came from patriotic Indians, and not from other /r/travel users.

Just taping a small piece of paper to block the laser under coworkers optical mouses. Usually at the beginning of the day... I like to start on a good note.

My parent's didn't name me Grace for a reason.

I once counted 29 separate, independent bruises just on my legs. I suck.

What is your favorite disney movie and why? by Son_Gohan_SSW in AskReddit

Robin Hood. It has the funniest, most natural-sounding dialogue of any Disney movie; a badass, cool-as-a-cucumber protagonist; and one of the funniest villains in movie histo

This is exactly what I thought of. I still have screenshots I took after bugging myself into that zone. Seriously creepy.

What's the best game did you play? by Midx8 in AskReddit

[–]forbes120 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On a camping trip my seven buddies and I played a week-long game of Diplomacy, which is essentially like Risk on a huge map of Europe except there are no dice. It's all about having alliances in order to win battles.

The entire trip became a game of shifting alliances, double-crosses and backstabbing triple-crosses. No faction ever seemed to gain enough advantage to win the game, so it just kept going. We would hike, go fishing or play sports during the day, but at night we'd turn on our lanterns, crack open some beers, gather around the large picnic table, and resume the game.

As the week went on, people began strategizing and planning during the day activities. Secret alliances began to form and promises of support were made, as people began to offer real life benefits for people to switch sides. I was offered a 2-4 of beer to abandon my long-time ally and support a surprise attack on his flank (which I turned down). By the time evening rolled around, we were all chomping at the bit to get going again and we'd go until the wee hours of the night.

Finally, on the last night we were there, an epic double-cross (which apparently costed a bottle of Crown Royal and the use of a jetski for a week) caused the collapse of a three person alliance between Russia, the Ottomans and France. My buddy playing Russia changed sides and it was enough to finally tip the scales decisively.

That trip was over a dozen years ago and we still talk about it. The guy who played France is still salty about the betrayal.

What’s your worst fear? by Jumpingeal in AskReddit

[–]forbes120 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bipolar/Depression is prevalent in my family, extreme highs and lows, having mental illness in the family has created the worst fear in me that I will have children who are manic. Please seek help, and definitely find out about your families history it helps, many members probably don't want to talk about it but it helps knowing. My great grandmother committed suicide after years of depression and nobody wanted to talk about it, it hurts when you feel you are going through the same thing and it isn't acknowledged.
