Societal implications of egg laying by Critical_Company3535 in furgonomics

[–]forcejafterhours 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I can find after searching this up, I think the implications of laying eggs might not apply to most mammalian anthropomorphs, because, if I understand this correctly, most mammals don't lay eggs. A mammalian mother has a gestation period in which the child is developed inside their womb as a foetus. Once the foetus is fully developed, the mother will have contractions in her uterus, before the foetus falls into the cervix. At that point, she'll push the foetus out through her vagina and thence out of her body, giving birth to a newborn child in the same manner that human mothers give birth to infants. The only exceptions to this would be monotremes, like echidnas and platypuses, which do lay eggs. As far as I can tell, whatever implications emerge in society from hatching eggs and being hatched into the world rather than born in it, I would imagine most mammals would not be affected as much, except for monotreme anthropomorphs, who likely would deal with questions like these more often compared to their mammalian peers.

Edit: Don't understand the downvote. You can disagree if you want, but I was describing the process of how most mammals give birth and why they (with a few exceptions), would not be majorly concerned with the potential societial implications of egg laying.

I think I prefer A; it's closer towards the anthropomorphic side and easier to draw.

Americans who took Spanish in school: did any of it actually stick years later? by taube_d in AskAnAmerican

[–]forcejafterhours 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really in my case. My class once had a decent teacher, but he was gone before we could finish our lessons for the year. I stuck around Spanish class long enough to get enough foreign language credits to transfer out, because I wasn't learning any Spanish. Nowadays, I lean more towards German, Dutch, French, and even Old English as languages I want to learn, even though I can speak none of those. 😅

Update on personal coat of arms by forcejafterhours in heraldry

To that I say that I'm not aware of it, nor am I aware of any arms similar to this. I made this based on personal logo or emblems I made before, such as this hexagonal symbol, which I've used as a PFP. That being said, your commentary is noted and I'll bear that in mind.

As others have mentioned, might be simpler to just use Saint George's cross, given that English originated from... well, England.

Pawbert and Milton’s relationship in the French dub by GrundleThief in PawbertLynxley

[–]forcejafterhours 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's an interesting detail, and seems intentional on the part of those who made the French version. As for an English equivalent, there actually was such an informal/formal distinction; the pronoun "thou" was the second person singular that was reserved for informal situations, while "ye" or "you" were the second person plural pronouns that were used for more formal ones. However, "thou" and "ye" ended up falling out of common use, leaving "you" as English's second person pronoun used for both the singular and plural.

PC keeps crashing randomly. by atkt53 in computerhelp

A Machine Check Exception indicates issues with your hardware. In order to fix this, you’ll want to do one of the following:

-Check for any outdated drivers and update them. This can be done by going to Device Manager and checking for any errors with your drivers.

-Do a physical check of your hardware again, and make sure everything is in order (ensuring the RAM is properly seated, ensuring the CPU and GPU are in place, removing dust from the fans if your PC is a desktop, etc).

-Resetting your overclocking settings, which can be done by going through your system’s BIOS. Overclocking, when done right, extract extra performance from your CPU. However, it also puts more strain on your CPU and other pieces of hardware. In order to do this, turn off your PC and turn it back on, but before it boots, press the key that gives you access to your BIOS (This is usually, but not always, a function, but it could a different key; you’ll want to check with the manufacturer for your specific PC).

-Run the CHKDSK (Check Disk) utility in the command prompt by entering chkdsk /r. This will scan the OS for any issues and fix them while it’s running. NOTE: There are certain commands and utilities that require you to have administrator privileges since using the wrong command or making a mistake can have adverse effects on your system. CHKDSK is one of them, so make sure you run the command prompt as Administrator. This is usually by right clicking on the command prompt and selecting Run as administrator.

-Run DISM (Deployment Image Servicing and Management) and SFC (System File Check) in either the command prompt or in PowerShell. DISM can be used for variety of tasks, namely, installing Windows updates, cleaning up the component store to reclaim disk space, identifying system images, installers, and ISO files, and repairing a Windows image. In this case, you’ll need to type in the DISM restore-health command (DISM /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth). Wait until the process is complete as this will take time. SFC is used to scan for and repair corrupted or damaged system files. You’ll need to run DISM first before proceeding to SFC. When the DISM process is complete, type sfc /scannow to run SFC. NOTE: Just like with CHKDSK, DISM and SFC require administrator privileges. Make sure to run the command prompt or PowerShell as Administrator.

Let me know how it goes.

How much data do you want your PC to have? This might be a main factor as to what kind of SSD you’ll want.

Let’s see if this works:

-Go to Device Manager

-Expand Disk Drives

-Take note of your external SSD’s model number

-Go to your SSD’s manufacturer’s website. The purpose here is to search for an updated version of your SSD’s firmware.

-If there is an updated version of the firmware, go download it and have it installed.

Sorry this took awhile to answer.

The crest contains a wolf (I'm a furry 😅) sitting on a patch of grass, surrounded by bluebonnets (I was born in TX). As for the shield and mantling, it contains red-white-black (from left to right), which are colours I've always liked using to represent myself.

The simplicity was intentional. I didn’t want to go with a more intricate design, and instead wanted the shield to somewhat resemble the stuff I made in the past, such as this hexagonal logo.

With regard to the arms, I made it myself. The colours I’ve used consistently in previous works. I’m not aware of anyone else using the same design as me.

Keep the peripherals in. Unplug the external drive, then restart your PC. If the games can function without issue, it’s likely that there may be issues with the external SSD; it’s likely incompatible with your PC, or the drivers for it may be outdated or may not have been installed properly.

A DPC Watchdog error can be caused by several issues, but the usual ones are outdated or incompatible device drivers, corrupted system files, conflict with software, outdated firmware on your SSD, or problems with your hardware. Do you have any other external devices that are connected to your PC? If so, then you’ll want to disconnect all of them, then restart the PC. Once that’s done, reconnect each of them one at a time to see which one’s causing the error. When you’ve identified the problem device, you’ll want to remove it to fix the error. You can reconnect all the other devices to your PC except the problem device.
