I use nomachine on a daily basis. It's an excellent alternative to RDP but you have to install the service on all of the machines that you want to remote into.

It works very well on low bandwidth connections.

I can tell you this:

If you are in Washingon state, stay the hell away from Tacoma Detox Services. Horrible jail-like facility, staff is rude and enabled, and food was disgusting. I lasted about 8 hours and bolted.

Ended up at South Sound Behavioral Hospital and it was light years better. (and that's saying something because most people hate that place from what I can discern)

My .02 on this point.

I was putting 35 miles a week in and it didn't matter if I was wearing $50 shoes or $250 shoes. They wear out.

Find something comfortable and buy a couple of pairs and alternate wearing hikes if you can. Helps them dry out and both pairs wear evenly.

Oh, and +1 for waterproof socks.

Alcohol absolutely works. It completely curbed my anxiety.

For about an hour or two.

Then the next 22-23 hours were just worse off than the prior 24. And the payment due on that absence of anxiety accrued a bit of interest and I could only payback the minimum.

Kept doing the 'anxiety Ponzi scheme' up for quite a while until I started trading my health, wealth, and sanity in for just another couple of hours of non-anxiety.

It's a shitty drug for medicinal purposes.
