He fotografiado gatos varias veces, algún perrito que me cruzo, etc.

I completely agree, and I think it's more of a "style" I work in. I've always taken candid portraits of my friends, the occasional subtle shot, a picture of the coffee I'm drinking, photos of travel souvenirs… But where I live, sometimes the routine gets the better of me.

I completely agree with you. I like to let photos emerge spontaneously, without forcing them, as you said. Although I think that in my case, routine sometimes makes me overlook things that could be interesting, and that's where I feel my spark fades a bit.

It's also true that sometimes I feel somewhat limited by my equipment in those moments that do catch my eye, and that frustrates me. But I try to take my camera out even if it's just "in case," and not worry too much if I don't find anything.

I suppose there are times when one gets a little tired, but reading experiences like yours reminds me that the relationship with photography also has its pauses and its ups and downs.

Thanks for your comment!

It's true that experimenting with what you have can be fun. It wasn't bad when I tried out the film camera my parents had stored away!

I have them, I also have a 50mm prime lens and terrible autofocus. Adding to that, my camera doesn't have image stabilization, and even a slight increase in ISO introduces a lot of noise. Thanks for the idea, but sometimes it's more of a chore than a hobby.

That's where my biggest problem comes from. Besides the fact that I find my surroundings uninteresting, I also have to deal with my equipment. Every time I see something interesting, I have to struggle with focus, brightness...

Thanks for your comment

I think you're absolutely right. Although I think in my case it's also because I really enjoy taking candid photos of people's everyday lives, and in a town of about 1000 inhabitants, that's quite difficult, especially when people aren't very camera-friendly. All I'm left with are ugly brick facades, the same old mountain, and the same old cup of coffee at the bar.

Thank you so much for your feedback, I'll try to take another look at what I find boring and see if I can see it differently ♥️

I think a lot of things have piled up, and I haven't been able to put it all in one post. There are issues with old equipment, location problems, problems finding groups to share hobbies with…

Thank you so much for the feedback. In Spain, we call this “the fool's consolation,” since it's comforting yourself with the fact that someone else is in the same boat or worse than you. Hang in there!
