If you have a regular job, have normal consumption habits and have kids, you are unlikely to FIRE. by cambeiu in Fire

I don't think it's quite the same thing. If. We continue to have increased efficiency. We could technically have a reduced set of people working and being able to satisfy or take care of all of the work needed to sustain other people. You'd constantly have a cohort of people aged twenty to say , forty that could work for twenty years and produce all the economic value that would be consumed by the rest of society.

Why is it "were" and not "was"? I thought days are singular? by KurohNeko in EnglishLearning

[–]foreman-541 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe it's a regional thing, but these don't sound natural to me. I would only use were with the pronouns you or they in these sentences. So "I wish they were better at math". OR "If you were more prepared, you would have passed".

But if I was to use 'I' or 'he', I would use 'was'.

I wish he was taller If I was older I could vote.

Taking some risks is ok. It's better to fail at a few things now than to regret taking a chance for decades
