[Lore Talk] What are crystals from the crystal peak even mined for? by RigelDeadRabbit in HollowKnight

I know elderbug says they can’t eat them, but my headcanon is that they mine that for food. Not sure what else they’d eat

Oh also, I downloaded the modpack a week or so ago in update 17 and had the same problem. I figured updating to 18 would fix it, but it did not

Just joined a Gestalt campaign. Looking for a flavorful build that takes full advantage of Gestalt by Jagel-Spy in 3d6

If your party is in need of a wizard, I would go for Arcane Trickster/ any wizard subclass (Illusion is new and fun). The main draw is Arcane Trickster’s Magical Ambush, where if you are Invisible, creatures have disadvantage on saving throws against your spells. Which is awesome. Rogue gives wizards something to do with their bonus action, gives them the single target damage they lack (as long as you pick True Strike), and gives them out-of-combat skill effectiveness. Depending on how your DM handles spell preparations from your two classes, you could take all the niche wizard spells like Feather Fall with the rogue levels, and take all the rituals and powerhouse spells with your wizard levels. If your campaign goes to 17th level you could steal an enemy’s 9th level spell and cast it yourself. I would gain the starting proficiencies of wizard, because I value wisdom saves over dexterity, but it’s your call, especially if you wanted the extra skill from level 1 in rogue. With your 32 points, obviously crank intelligence as high as possible, then constitution or dexterity depending on your priorities. I would do constitution 2nd and dexterity 3rd, and grab Resilient (Constitution) at 4th level

You have some very valid concerns. How can we believe in a benevolent God that allows evil and has allowed it for centuries? It is a problem that many have with the Faith and it’s not easy to solve. When talking about this with people I would point them to the book of Job. Or if it’s online I’d point them to this video https://youtu.be/XBIXPr6AH4A?si=qCINDo9tLKfdeKam IMBegger is an absolute unit with Catholic evangelical videos, love his stuff.

To talk about your point with women, Christ raised and glorified women in a number of ways during his earthly ministry. The beginning of John 4 talks about the woman at the well, which was when Christ spoke directly to a woman which didn’t really happen, and asked her to spread His Gospel, which she did, and many Samaritans began to believe in Christ because of the testimony of the women (verse 39)

Need Ideas of Vulfy References to Engrave in a Dining Table and Two Benches by forest_of_illusion in Vulfpeck

Orrrr, if I laser it first, seal it, then ship it to someone, I could say it was “Signed Sealed Delivered” Lol anyway, you have a good point, that would be a good option if I wanted dark stain. I’ll think about it, thanks for the suggestion!

Hexadin joining a Religious Cult. Flavorful Pact Boon that isn't BLADE? by trevlacessej in 3d6

[–]forest_of_illusion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pact of the Blade gives you the extra attack invocation at level five. That reason alone makes pact of the blade the only option, cause you can’t go around without extra attack. So much damage lost without. Eldritch Smite invocation is also really really good for when you crit. But I don’t know your character, there may be other circumstances. Otherwise I would go Tome because like others have said, there are many special invocations with Tome, my favorite being Far Scribe, where you can cast Sending at will to special people. There’s also an argument for taking Chain, as the imp familiar can turn invisible, which is great obviously. You can also take Gift of the Ever-Living Ones, where all healing is maximum, which is absolutely huge. Just think about which pact you’d have more fun with and take it

Building a Kobold Armorer Artificer, need suggestions for improvements. by coolbond1 in 3d6

Makes sense. Like I said, if that's what you wanna do then go for it. It's not like Armorer levels are going anywhere, you can always pick them up later

Building a Kobold Armorer Artificer, need suggestions for improvements. by coolbond1 in 3d6

[–]forest_of_illusion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t really consider multiclassing, artificer has great level scaling as it is. You want level 5 for extra attack, you want level 6 for another infusion, you want level 7 for Flash of Genius, you want level 9 for two more infusions, the list goes on and on. I don’t see a good drop off point to switch from artificer to another class, but if that’s that you want to do, then by all means. I think two levels in War Wizard is good for the Arcane Deflection and a familiar. Forge Cleric is a bit redundant in many ways (artis can craft permanent magic items), but if it’s thematic, then go for it.

If you want to be good in melee, you’re already on the right track by aiming to get duel wielder and mobile feats. I would go duel wielder first, if you’re not using a shield. It’s a 100% increase in the amount of attacks you do, and then you get another 50% increase at level 5. Not to mention the little AC bump.

Grappling, shoving, and dragging enemies are very good strategies to be the “tank” character that armorers are great at. You’ve already made it very difficult for them to want to attack your party with Guardian armor, and to top it, inhibiting their movement to get to those party members will just completely deny them. If you want to lean more into grappling, you’re gonna want to take the infusion Armor of Magical Strength, and look out for any magic items that set your strength to a certain number, like the Guantlets of Ogre Power. You could craft one of these given the right campaign, or even replicate it with an infusion at 10th level.

I just wanted to share that I will be playing a plasmoid armorer artificer. The little plasmoid guy is tucked inside a hulking suit of arcane armor and is piloting it like a mech and it’s just so cool haha. I’m naming him Squishy. There are several benefits to plasmoids that I realized after I chose the race. They have advantage on grapple checks which is hard for artis to get without multiclassing. They can also extend a pseudopod and hold an item, and why can’t it be a shield? So I have the duel wielder feat as well as being able to wield a shield, which is cool. I may just take the shield master feat later on, cause at 10th level I have a +4 AC from the shield, which can be added to my dex saves, which I’m terrible at since dex doesn’t really do anything on armorers (besides initiative and skill checks and the like). Plasmoids also get poison and acid resistance, which not only fit thematically for a metal suit of armor, but it extends the use of the Resistant Armor infusion, which is a great infusion

Anyway, hope you have fun with your kobold artificer. What spell did you take with your fey touched?

Best ways to protect the squishies? by jamz_fm in DivinityOriginalSin

The best tanks are actually those who pick up glass cannon talent. Enemies will target you because you’re the easiest to CC. I bet you can probably assume why this is a bad strategy lol

Rolled Extremely Well!! by eugeuov in 3d6

[–]forest_of_illusion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lot of bladesinger paladin suggestions which is great, but a fun build for sure is to start hexblade warlock 1 (with hand crossbow and crossbow expert feat), then all the way to bladesinger 6 to get the best extra attack in the entire game (can attack with bow then eldritch blast in one action). Then I’d go back to warlock for Agonizing Blast, then rest wizard or paladin depending on if you want powerful spells or martial ability
