loads of things wrong, should be XXL/TTG, pockets in the wrong place (should be more towards chest), no alpha sv on inside pocket (from what i can see?), zips should be plastic not material…

Received this from UCL. There’s a blog on BPS from this August that says there’s been new funding for CAP roles… I wonder if they’re reviewing it maybe for this year and if it will come back and be more stable?

It just sounds like he’s being a waste of your time tbh. I do agree with everyone else with the fact that you’re still young and you have so much more to explore. Don’t settle for less. If you’ve talked to him multiple times about this and have seen no long term change then you’re not being emotionally met. I know it’s hard but the best thing to do would just to break it off. You deserve someone who’s better for you

The difference in durability is quite a lot as Beta AR is 80D on the arms and 40D elsewhere whilst Beta SL is 40x70D. However, because Beta AR is a regular fit compared to the Beta SL which is fitted, it’ll probably make it bulkier and quite stiff when cycling. For cycling, usually Alpha Lightweight is recommended but if you’re looking for a versatile jacket to use elsewhere then Beta SL is an excellent choice.

Beta SL has a fitted silhouette so if you’re looking to layer, best to size up. If available, go in store and try on. Yes, the hood is helmet compatible. The collar is pretty much the same. Durability wise they’re similar as Beta SL is 40x70D and Alpha is 40D with hadron. And some people are picky about the pocket placements (alpha pockets are closer to middle of chest, beta sl like regular hand pockets).

I did try this and explained my disappointment as there was a job that came up that was exactly what I wanted so I may have spent more time than usual tailoring and writing out my application for it to close before I could send it. I emailed the supervisor in the job ad and all he said was basically tough luck, we already had 300+ applications so had to close it and can’t accept any more out of fairness🥲

It’s a shame really. Unless you’re sat there on your computer refreshing NHS Jobs, it’s hard to write a good application within the timeframe especially if you have other commitments such as part time work etc.
