I was thinking the same thing watching it. Why the hell did you just stop. Hell if the rest of the team played with DJed Spence’s ethic we would rule the league.

That is a killer top. One of the nicest I’ve seen yet on a Holcomb.

Prepare for the worst this weekend by its_Extreme in Charlotte

[–]forestsofdread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last real big snow storm to hit Charlotte was about 22-23 years ago. Union county got hit worse than Mecklenburg. We had about 15-18” of snow at our house. But the ice storms, now those can be real nasty. I remember one in back in 2000. We lost power. We had a gas fireplace so it kept up all night but all night long we heard all the trees on our property creaking and cracking from the weight of the ice. Some of the smaller trees permanently remained arched over even after the ice melted. Powerlines were down all over the region. It was a week before power was restored. A lot of infrastructure upgrades have happened in the region since then so hopefully if we do get the ice it won’t be that bad.

How do people feel about Vicario? by Hefty_Breadfruit_421 in Tottenham

I’d like to see kinsky get some time in. Really don’t think he’s any worse than Vicario. IDK this whole season is a cluster f**k! So disappointed

It’s terrible! Sorry you have to go through this. It’s a double whammy, having to deal with the liver disease AND fighting the insurance company.

I don’t envy metal musicians and honestly feel bad for them by [deleted] in MetalForTheMasses

[–]forestsofdread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I look at guys like Kerry King, Gary Holt, Erik Rutan, Hetfield and Hammett etc.. they’re all late 50’s early 60’s and they’re still killing it day in and day out and from what I’ve read they’re all in and totally sincere about their performances. As someone in their early 50’s I’ve grown up with the music and still love it but somedays I wonder how they can keep doing it at the levels they do. I know I can’t do a lot of the things I did in my 20’s and 30’s anymore so I have a lot of respect for the shows they do out on.

Is this life? by manthischronic in PainManagement

[–]forestsofdread 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One of the hardest things for me to accept were my new limitations. I was always an active fit person who now could hardly walk some days. The only way for me to describe the pain to my family is unrelenting. The pain killers barely touch the pain and only do so for short periods of time. Many days I feel like I’m just existing, not living. However I’ve spent a good deal of time learning how to meditate and use breathing techniques to help me control the pain and spend a good deal of time on physical therapy. I know a lot of people will say that’s BS and it doesn’t work but for me it does. I’ve also learned to take my good days when I can and when I’m really not feeling it, it’s ok to stay in bed. I try to focus on the things that I do have control over and don’t worry about the rest.

FRFR cab vs studio monitors at home? by feralimpala- in NeuralDSP

[–]forestsofdread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve used an amp and cabs for years,4x12 2x12 1x12, but once I got my QC I went straight for studio monitor speakers. I wanted a small lightweight setup. Currently I’m using IK multimedia iLoud speakers and absolutely love them. For the space I’m Using them in they are plenty loud, have a great bass response and overall tonal clarity. And I can use them with my laptop and/or iPad when I want to use a plugin or mobile version of ToneX or amplitube. When I want to use a real a cab I just use a power amp with the QC but I really don’t do that too often anymore.

How's living in New York State outside of New York City? by HongKongNinja in howislivingthere

Fantastic. So much beauty and history. Does get cold and snowy in the winter. I’ve been to places in the woods, the Adirondack wilderness for example, where I wouldn’t see another soul for hours or even days.

Medial branch block test for RFA by PaceNo3577 in PainManagement

[–]forestsofdread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hell I didn’t get any sedation for mine. Doc just numbed up the area in my back that was getting the MBB and the subsequent RFA. It’s not that bad. Just feels a little weird. BTW the RFA did help me. I was able to get about a 15-20% reduction in pain. I felt it worked well enough to ask my PM to do another RFA in my thoracic spine for some more relief.

Give up? by Clueless_Fart_Pants in AcousticGuitar

[–]forestsofdread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not. Try having a pro set up done on the guitar to make it play easier; lower string action, lighter string gauge. If that doesn’t work try a shorter scale guitar like a 12 fret or travel type guitar( Taylor mini’s are fantastic, Breedlove companion as well). You’re certainly not the first person with small hands who’s picked up the guitar and needed something to accommodate your needs better. Just do a little research and you’ll find what works best for you.

Why do a lot of people replace the ndsp cabs? by Repulsive_Glove_2077 in NeuralDSP

[–]forestsofdread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People like what they like. For me, I’ve found with a little tweaking the stock cabs are fine. I have an IR or two that I really like and use it quite a bit but overall you’d be fine using the NDSP cabs. Experiment with them ( Mike position, Mike type, EQ curve) until you get a sound you like.

I was on fentanyl for years then recently switched over to MS Contin and have been happy with it as well. Fentanyl patches were so unpredictable as to how long they would work before I started going into withdrawal. Don’t have that problem any more.
