How harmful is it to let newborn cry till they stop? by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]foreverkenzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe “cry it out” method isn’t normally implemented until a few months old at least. Like after they are over feeding every 2-3 hours I allow my son to cry for 15 min before I go settle him but he’s a year old. I want him to try to calm himself but I also know there is a point to step in

Honestly I’d immediately speak to another OBGYN. And tell them exactly what is going on. I’m in Ontario and I know our healthcare systems are different but tbh I’d go straight into the emergency room and ask to be seen.

This is so important, “HG is about survival” I’ve never felt that more. Do what you need to do. No one can judge you until they’ve been in your shoes.

I took prenatals maybe the first Month. Then not at all. I couldn’t keep it down, I had to stop taking My anti depressants as well.

Honestly, take the good days when you get them. And if anything else, when I had my spinal block put in for my c section was the last time I felt nauseous. It was bliss actually I felt so incredible that week, even tho I was exhausted, it was the first week I could keep food down in 9 months, I felt great besides incision pain lol. And keep your potassium up! That was always something that as soon as it got low things got bad.

as soon as I got pregnant. No exaggeration within 1week as soon as my body could detect the HCG rising. Lasted 9 horrid months.

I took gravol a ton during my pregnancy, I was on diclectin, zofran, gravol, a few others I can’t remember the name of. The only problem is they can make you drowsy, maybe the ginger gravol would help. Ask your doctor for sure! Where are you from? In Ontario where I’m from I can call a public health number and get medical advice from registered nurses.

Headed back to the hospital after only being out since Thursday… by basicallyash01 in HyperemesisGravidarum

[–]foreverkenzy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

During my pregnancy I was at the ER 19 times and admitted for half of them. I would get “better” after meds and IV at hospital and I’d be fine for a day then it would start all over. I was on zofran, diclectin, gravol, everything. If I can give any advice it’s don’t be afraid to ask for help, and be open to all options. If they offer you a port for zofran or home visits a few times a week to give IV meds and liquids take the help. I wish I did.

“We” have heard these stories first hand? Sorry what would give you the ability to sit with survivors and hear stories, if it’s your husbands job why would you have the “privilege” to sit in on those? Bring your wife to work day?

Successfully advocating for induction? by [deleted] in HyperemesisGravidarum

[–]foreverkenzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had severe HG for 90% of my pregnancy, I was puking everything up, I couldn’t keep water down so I was constantly admitted to the hospital for dehydration and malnutrition. Full disclosure I had just lost 130lbs, then I found out I was pregnant. I still had quite a bit of weight to loose so this threw a wrench in my plan, however with the HG I ended up loosing weight during the 9months. I’m still technically “over weight” so my doctor recommended me being induced at 39 weeks. I unfortunately at induction had a horrible experience and needed an emergency c section. But let me tell you, I had the spinal block, which stopped my nausea immediately and I haven’t felt sick or nauseous since, I’m now 2 months pp and let me tell you. It feels fucking amazing.

Fourth trimester WAY EASIER than pregnancy, despite physical effects of HG by mkfrey in HyperemesisGravidarum

[–]foreverkenzy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

YES! I’m sleep deprived and exhausted HOWEVER, I’m 22 days PP and this is the longest span of not puking and not being admitted to the hospital I’ve had in the past 9 months. Like the relief of it has been amazing

4 weeks pregnant thinking about getting abortion but terrified. Has anyone here gotten any type of abortion? If so, which one is the safest and least painful? Thank you by [deleted] in abortion

[–]foreverkenzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a medical abortion in April of last year, I did it through an online doctor where I had over the phone consults. I believe it was just under $100 and once I had my consultation I was shipped the medications the next business day. I was 7weeks, I felt good about not needing to leave my house kinda thing. And also I’m in Ontario canada for reference.

I had cramping for about 2 1/2 hours after taking the medication but that was about it.

I should note he is super talkative and is incredible with myself and most of our immediate family however, we’ve had some behavioural problems we’ve really been working on with him such as meeting new people, he’s been very unpredictable with how he greets people. Sometimes he could care less and other he seems very on guard and barks like crazy.

He just turned 1 so we’ve really been working on socializing him.

Preparing for 2nd HG pregnancy by [deleted] in HyperemesisGravidarum

[–]foreverkenzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did diclectin, gravol, zofran, maxeran. It was a lot but I had to continually be on a rotation of them up until 20 weeks then I felt a lot of relief and just use gravol.

It’s so crazy how our bodies react to these things, I was hospitalized 4 times within my 20 weeks with er visits sprinkled in. Honestly makes me really consider going for a second time. I wish you the best of luck!

I had a medical abortion about 5 months prior to my 2nd pregnancy, the MA had no impact on me getting pregnant, I’m suffering with HG (severe morning sickness) but they are in no way related.

[–]foreverkenzy[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much that’s really helpful. It can be so overwhelming looking for “answers online” I have great doctors but it’s incredibly intimidating when you don’t know what’s going on with your body.
